I'm now nearly 32 weeks due a little boy who will be boy number 3! We are really struggling with names.

Some names we like are

Artie
Max
Gus (hubby hates this 😩)
Archie
Teddy

We are particularly drawn to names ending in the 'ie' sound. We don't want a long name as middle name and surname are quite long.

Thoughts on above names and can you suggest anymore?

Toby?

pantherrose · 02/04/2021 22:16

Dexter/Dex/
Ivan
Miles
Theo

Not sure which I prefer, Rufus or Teddy, so offered some others!

Livpool · 02/04/2021 21:47

Teddy over Rufus - such a nice name.

I had a great uncle Edward when I was young and called him Uncle Teddy Edward. He was lovely so I always have a soft spot for Teddy

Krazynights34 · 02/04/2021 21:28

Frankie?
Jamie?
Freddie?/Freddy

I also really like Rufus.

I also like Thomas, Daniel, Dorian, Ben, Samuel, Isaac, James, Paul, Theo, Jonah

JengaNonConfirming · 02/04/2021 20:42

Jared
Ethan
Tobias
Matthew

@DragonPoop

Rufus or Rex!
Rex was the front runner until I spoke to SIL on the phone last week and she happened to talk to the cat while on the phone who is called Rex 😂 we completely forgot about him, this is hubby's brother so we really can't use it!

@TatianaBis

What are your other boys called?
I'd rather not say as will be outing Burt they both end in "ay" sounds.

Rufus is a fab name.

DragonPoop · 02/04/2021 20:27

daisypond · 02/04/2021 20:05

Rufus. Sorry, I think Teddy is too twee.

@Twirlywoos1

We're calling our little boy Lenny. We aren't putting Leonard on the birth certificate either, he's just Lenny. People dont like it, but we do and it's our baby 🙂 go with your heart.
I love Lenny, it was on our list for a little while but it doesn't really go with our other 2 boys names.

Teddy would be on the birth certificate, I'm not a fan of giving a baby name if that's not what they are to be called. I get lots of people do it but it's just not for us.

Hubby is plumping for Rufus but I love Teddy, I also like Rufus too just not as much so I'd be happy either way.

It's taken us so long to come up with these 2 names, we already have 2 boys so have found this one really tricky!

Rufus is a great name.
What about Rafferty?

sarah13xx · 02/04/2021 18:38

@Kaboomba

Lol don't hold back folks Grin

Teddy might be the front runner, as despite the negative feedback I still love it!

People on here can be so harsh 🙈 Ted/Teddy is nice. Would you go for Teddy on the birth certificate or Theodore? I’m going for a nickname name but think I’m just putting it on the birth certificate because the full name isn’t as nice as Theodore
Kaboomba · 02/04/2021 15:02

@TatianaBis

Well you love it. For a baby. He might not appreciate being called Teddy as an adult? He has to live 60 years + as a grown up. He won't be a cute ickle toddler for long.

Give him a grown up name and call him Teddy as a kid. Then he can choose when he's older.

I get this and that's why I've not 100% set on it, but I do figure he could go as Ted when he is older. I really don't like the long versions for Teddy so wouldn't go with any of those.

I dislike both but Rufus is the least bad. Teddy is ridiculous! Shock

IamnotwhouthinkIam · 01/04/2021 04:05

Rufus definitely - quirky but classical and suits all ages. Teddy is a really sweet nn on a little boy, but I find it a bit cute sounding on an adult personally (also it's likely that a fair number of the Edward's and Theodore's in the top 100 are known as Teddy, so overall it may be quite popular).

Tillygetsit · 31/03/2021 23:23

Rufus. It's a fab name.

Violetlavenders · 31/03/2021 19:50

Teddy as in Teddy bear 🧸? That's cute for a baby. I'd call him Edward, Thaddeus or Theodore.

Rufus is nice and I also like Rex and Quinn.

Sawyersfishbiscuits · 31/03/2021 19:45

Edward NN Teddy

Frankie
Billy
Archer NN Archie
