A brother for Oliver and Isaac

Our third son is now over two weeks old and still has no name! We already have an Oliver and an Isaac. Baby has ginger hair and soft delicate features and I’d like a name that reflects this. I liked Charlie but not sure it suits him. My partner likes Elliott but I’m worried it sounds too similar to the word idiot. We both think Samuel/Sam is nice but maybe a little “boring”. Any suggestions? Thanks

I think Jacob would be too biblical with Isaac, unless you're very religious. Elliot is nice.

Samuel is a lovely name and no more boring than Isaac and Oliver, all classic and popular names for a reason. They go well together.

Charlie is boring to me though. And it's a nickname, you'd have to go Charles so he has parity with his brothers.

What about Felix, Robin, Alexander, Henry, Patrick?

I have a Samuel (Sam). He is 15 and it has suited him at every age since he was a newborn baby. I am so pleased I chose it - and so is he :)

It goes really well with your other boys' names too Grin

HummusAndCarrotSticks · 09/03/2021 20:51

I love the suggestion of Rory! I think it goes well with your other sons' names too.

Charlie I find jars a bit with Oliver and Isaac, as it is nicknamey while the others aren't... If you went for Charlie, I'd probably put Charles on the BC.

Elliott is nice. Doesn't make me think of the word idiot at all Smile.

Rory, Charles nn Charlie or Elliott are all fine. Rory is mu fave.

And huge congratulations Flowers

Your description makes me think Benjamin or Rory.

Samuel and Charlie are both nice too. Elliott for me is too vow-heavy with your other two bit a nice name in itself.

For a little redhead consider Rory meaning red king.
