What do you think of the name Josephine? And do you think you can have a josie if you have a Lucy??

Especially love Effie as a nn but Josie is nice too.

SummerInSun · 07/03/2021 15:25

Lovely name. But also prefer Jo or Josette to Josie as a nickname.

There was a roadside cafe in Ireland called Josephine’s kitchen, which used to sell the best cooked breakfast with black and white puddings. It was lush.
For that reason alone I’d go for it! Yum!

Hate hate hate the abbreviation Josie (maybe because I am of the Josie and the Pussycats generation) but love the shorter Jo.

PS I am a Josephine

Josephine, Josette, Josie. Loads of lovely names that all go with Lucy.

partyatthepalace · 07/03/2021 15:08

It’s a nice underused name, and Josie and Lucy are fine.

BackforGood · 07/03/2021 15:07

Lovely name. One of my favourites at the moment.

Yes, Josie is different enough from Lucy, especially as you have the full name for when you prefer to use it.

I wanted to shorten my DD4 ( now 20) to Fifi. So thought about Josephine.

Gorgeous name, although I personally prefer the Effie or Sephy nn to Josie, I don't think Josie and Lucy sound odd together.

Monicuddle · 07/03/2021 14:42

Love it. Josie and Lucy a bit of a mouthful though. How about Jojo, Sephy, or just Jo?

DramaAlpaca · 07/03/2021 14:40

I love Josephine, and yes Lucy and Josie are fine together.
