Just interested to know what you think of this name? It seems to have been fairly popular in the 70s/80s but what do you think of it now?
I sometimes think it’s timeless and other times think dated. I do like it though. WYOO

Lovely name.

I like it, it's classic and underused these days but it's one of those names that has never gone completely out of fashion, I know Rachels born in every decade from the 60s to recently. I have a slight preference for the spelling Rachael.

Not keen

It's my name.

I like it. People do inevitably spell it in some creative ways, including the alternative Rachael as well as Rachelle and Rachele and I'm often called Rebecca. Conversations with Rebecca's reveal that they're often called Rachel, so I think it's that strong R sound, but you will always get people that mess up your name.

I was born in the early 80s and I've seen it coming back recently. Someone I know has daughters aged around 7 and 9 that are Rachel and Sarah. I always thought they stood out as original in a sea of Evie's, Amelia's and Lily's.

My parents original choices were Felicity and Natalie. I do think that my name has a more timeless quality to it than those and it works with whatever age.

Anything Biblical is pretty timeless. The oldest Rachel I know is 17, so I would never think of it as a 1970s name.

Like it.

A bit dated yes but still a lovely name.
