Daisy Alice by a million miles Smile. Lovely!

Ella just sounds like someone regurgitating something to me (sorry). It was nice for about five minutes when it was fresh and reminded me of Fitzgerald, but now, it really isn't to my taste and it's a bit done to death as well. Popularity alone doesn't bother me usually though.

BikeRunSki · 04/03/2021 14:47

Ella Daisy

I don’t really like Daisy as a first name.

LiJo2015 · 04/03/2021 14:47

Daisy Alice

HalfTermHalfTerm · 04/03/2021 14:45

I like Daisy Alice best out of the two, but I prefer Alice Daisy!

Ella is nice, but it is very popular. I’m not keen on Charlotte but I don’t really know why. It’s very inoffensive, I think I just find it a bit boring Blush

Daisy is a very ‘sweet’ name, but I think it works better for an adult woman than a lot of other names that end with an ‘ee’ sound.

AlexaShutUp · 04/03/2021 14:37

Totally agree that Ella is over used btw. I still think it's better than Daisy, though.

AlexaShutUp · 04/03/2021 14:36

Sorry, I don't like the name Daisy. It's fine as a nickname, but I wouldn't ever choose it as a proper name.

Consequently, out of your choices, I'd go for Ella Daisy. I'm not that keen on Ella, but it's much better as a first name than Daisy imo.

My favourite of all your names is Alice. Love that, and I'd use it as a first choice. It's a pity your dh doesn't like it.

Chilldonaldchill · 04/03/2021 14:32

Daisy Alice is lovely.
Daisy Ella or Daisy Charlotte are also great.
I much prefer Daisy (sassy, fun and don't listen to anyone who tells you that an adult Daisy won't be taken seriously) to Ella (overused, boring, not at all stylish).

LittleTiger007 · 04/03/2021 14:31

Daisy Charlotte sounds good to me. A Daisy can definitely be a strong, powerful woman.

Biscuitsneeded · 04/03/2021 14:22

With Arthur I would have Daisy. Because if she's Ella they will always be referred to as Arthur'n'Ella which sounds like a disease, or the other way round people will insert a random R in order to say EllaRan'Arthur.

BoredatHome321 · 04/03/2021 14:22

I'm a Daisy and have never understood the dislike for the name on here for being too "twee". I'm definitely not a girly girl or a young child and love the name, it's not too common and I like it. Maybe I'm bias though Wink

IamnotwhouthinkIam · 04/03/2021 14:18

Of the two, Ella Daisy. Or if you are considering Charlotte Daisy or Alice Daisy, then I like those even better (more classic).

Daisy is fun but sounds very cutesy to me, so I much prefer it as a middle name for an adult (she can still always call herself Daisy if she wants to!)

Starsandglitter · 04/03/2021 14:12

I would go with Daisy and either middle name is lovely too x

KirstenBlest · 04/03/2021 14:10

Ella has been overused and is a bit nothingy.

Daisy a bit too milkmaidy for me to choose it but there are a few adult Daisys (Daisy May Cooper, Daisy Ridley etc) around so it should be OK.

I prefer Alice and Charlotte, but not my baby.

BiBabbles · 04/03/2021 14:10

For me: Daisy Charlotte, then Ella Daisy - both are lovely, but Ella does feel a bit nicknamey to me as I've not yet met anyone who has it as a full name and I think Daisy Charlotte runs slightly more smoothly together. Either choice is great though.

SleepingStandingUp · 04/03/2021 14:07

Daisy - I am drawn to more, but could she be a lawyer or doctor or truck driver?
What exactly do you think will stop her? Will you take the toy cars from her and only hand her a dolly and a hairdryer? Or refuse to buy the magazine's with the little stethoscopes on the front?

TweeterandtheMonkeyman · 04/03/2021 14:02

Weirdly Daisy , Alice and Charlotte are my siblings names! My mother had similar taste to you back in the early 80s!

I like Daisy Alice .

Laila747 · 04/03/2021 13:56

I like Daisy Alice. Very pretty Smile

I’m not keen on Ella but that’s purely because I had a ‘friend’ at school called Ella and she stole my Neighbours annual Angry

buntingandstarcharts · 04/03/2021 13:54

@GU24Mum this is what I'm thinking - perhaps vowel girl names are just too popular atm and daisy is a bit different without being 'out there'?

AnoDeLosMuertos · 04/03/2021 13:54

Sorry, I’m not a fan of Daisy. It is a weed after all!

buntingandstarcharts · 04/03/2021 13:53

@Wimpeyspread so your daughter loves her name? This is excellent, thank you x

OP posts:
Wimpeyspread · 04/03/2021 13:51

@MissLucyEyelesbarrow

Daisy is lovely for a small child, but too cutesy for an adult, IMO. Better as a middle or nick name.
Well mine is in her 30s and loves her name - NOT a girly girl!
GU24Mum · 04/03/2021 13:50

I'd pick Daisy for the first name - it's less in fashion at the moment (there are lots in my mid-teen daughter's year).

I really like both Alice and Charlotte and have used one for a mn too. I think Charlotte runs better with Daisy but it's a close call!

buntingandstarcharts · 04/03/2021 13:48

*WOULD steer clear

@TeeBee what a divine comment ❤️

buntingandstarcharts · 04/03/2021 13:47

So here are my worries....

Would Ella be known as Ellie to friends? As we know, nicknames are out of our control and if Ellie was a possibility I wouldn't steer clear, purely as I just don't love it. Also, Ella could be just too popular and forever she would be know as 'Ella W'. Initials EW - is this mean? (Ewwww)

Daisy - I am drawn to more, but could she be a lawyer or doctor or truck driver? Would she fit in with all the poppys, lilys and no one would turn a blind eye to the perhaps slightly girlie name? I look at daisy ridley/daisy lowe/ daisy edgar Jones and think they seem powerful, independent feisty women yet feminine, so should the girlie element bother me?!

Alice and Charlotte can't be first names as husband doesn't love either.

Her bro is Arthur Hamish, not sure if that helps?
