Also any middle name suggestions. I literally have no clue what to name this baby since husband doesn't like my initial choice.

It’s a great name.

LadyEloise · 07/03/2021 12:11

St Jude - the patron saint of hopeless cases.
I used to pray to him when doing exams. Smile
I always passed.
Unusual name. I only know of one in rl. He's 15 now.

FingersXssd83 · 05/03/2021 03:28

Heh1991 · 05/03/2021 03:11

I knew a guy when I was a teenager, I thought everyone called him DUDE as a nickname. Turns out his name is Jude. ! Grin
My other friend Thought the same thing.

Changethetoner · 05/03/2021 01:10

I've never met a male Jude, but do know two female Judes. I do like it for a boy though.

Serin · 03/03/2021 23:52

I love it.
Timeless.

Wanderlust20 · 03/03/2021 23:11

Love it, I'm considering it too but feeling torn! And yes, Hey Jude is my favourite Beatles song!

Smilingdonkey · 03/03/2021 23:02

I like it a lot but Jude the Obscure is too tragic 😫

Also would.be worried about the constant singing of Hey Jude ...

Onlinedilema · 03/03/2021 22:19

Great name.I wouldn't use a middle name if nothing appeals to you.

MorriseysGladioli · 03/03/2021 22:11

I love names, and their meanings.
Jude tricks all boxes.

Playdoughcaterpillar · 03/03/2021 22:08

Love it. My DH didn't like it. We have another J name instead. And a J middle name.

TigerDroveAgain · 03/03/2021 22:08

Bit obscure for me

Cbeebiesrehab · 03/03/2021 22:05

He is actually the Patron Saint of ‘hope’ and ‘impossible causes’ and I find is actually a nice link...he’s the St you turn to when you feel all is lost and he helps you find the strength to keep going.

resm · 03/03/2021 21:22

I have a Jude Matthew, 1 1/2 - it suits him!

Sorry - despise it - always hated that awful hey Jude song by the Beatles

WowIlikereallyhateyou · 03/03/2021 19:45

Hate the name, it is becoming very common now too.

Cbeebiesrehab · 03/03/2021 17:01

My son is Jude. I adore it and get complimented on it frequently.

KirstenBlest · 03/03/2021 15:36

Don't like it at all. The only Jude I know is Judith on her BC.

Nell96 · 03/03/2021 15:26

I like it. I know a little one born about 8 months ago.

FlashesOfRage · 03/03/2021 13:56

Taught a Jude and I think it is a great name! ❤️

RavingAnnie · 03/03/2021 13:51

I love the name. And the song!

IamnotwhouthinkIam · 03/03/2021 13:00

Ah, if you are in the US OP, then possibly the Hardy novel won't be as obvious a reference? (although not necessarily Jude, a Hardy novel is often taught in schools here - basically Jude lives a miserable frustrated life and dies quite young, Hardy novels don't tend to be happy!) But Jude Law was apparently partly named after the novel so it can't be that bad - it is considered a classic!

More relevant in the US will be the cool Beatles song and on the negative side the fact that it is the German word for Jew (so was written on the forced Stars of David during the Holocaust - I think there is a fairly large Jewish population in the States, so could be relevant or not?).

Either way, Jude is almost in the top 50 over here and steadily rising, so clearly a lot of people love the name!
