Boy name to go with Henry & Arthur

We just found out we are having a THIRD boy!! It took us almost 4 weeks to name our second. Our eldest is Henry Thomas and our Second is Arthur Kenneth (nn Archie).

Seeing as it took so long to pick a boy name last time, I thought I'd get a head start on this one 😂 Hopefully 4 months is enough!!

I'd love to hear your traditional name suggestions. Our surname is Brown so we defo can't do James and I can't bring myself to do Charlie Brown (even though hubby says it's fine)! What do you think?

I wouldn't do William Brown, even if I loved the Just William books!

Edwin
Oliver
Frederick
Hugo
Patrick
Nicholas

My favourite traditional boys names are Edward, Thomas and James (I understand James doesn't work for you though).

My friend named her son Albert and he is known as Bertie which works very well, traditional and contemporary at the same time.

Dinosaursdontgrowontrees · 24/02/2021 18:43

Edward or George

Stanley, Wilf, Edwin, Thomas or Joseph

BallsToYouSue · 24/02/2021 18:26

I love Angus.

But also love William if you want a King of England theme. Edward is nice too and George.

littlemisslozza · 24/02/2021 18:07

Congratulations! We have three boys too, they're great.

My thoughts:
Alexander (Alex)
Wilfred (Wilf)
Frederick (Freddie)
Edward
Jonathan
Matthew
William
Max
Richard
Robert
Peter

FedNlanders · 24/02/2021 18:03

I dont you need a theme. Just pick one you like. :)

Edward or Teddy is good though.

Well if you're going with the Royal theme, Edward or William.

PolarnOPirate · 24/02/2021 17:41

Really it’s basically got to be one of George, Louis, Freddie (Frederick/Alfred), William or Edward.

Coldwinterahead1 · 24/02/2021 17:39

Edward or Owen

lovelsa · 24/02/2021 17:38

@nitsandwormsdodger I'd like them to go together, as I'm sure I'll be shouting all three of them together fairly regularly haha

@BlibBlabBlob

Got to keep up the kings of England theme, surely? ;-) William, Stephen, Richard, John, Edward, James, Charles, George. But probably not John or George because your surname only has one syllable too. James Brown and Charlie Brown also problematic for obvious reasons... so yeah, William, Stephen, Richard or Edward!

Or you could go crazy and call him Canute. :-D

Agree with this, keep the traditional kingly theme - Edward instantly sprung to mind for me as it's 2 syllables like Henry and Arthur and is an ultimate classic, lots of nn's, can't go wrong sort of name.

Or you could go more subtle and chose a non-english kingly "classic" name - Louis, Robert, Alexander, David etc

Love Henry and Arthur btw!

clary · 24/02/2021 17:28

I see I echo others' views!

Meant to say congrats, three boys, that's lovely.

OP I love your name choices! Two of my faves.

On that basis may I suggest some others I like:
Edward/Edwin
Frederick (Freddie)
Wilfred
Alfred (a bit close to Arthur)
Albert (hmm Bertie Brown)
Angus
George
Stanley oooh yes Stanley Brown that's ace
