Arve for a boy

DP are at odds with naming our first DC. I really like Thomas, Samuel and Arthur, and while DP says he likes all three, he's pushing for something unusual. So far suggestions have included Gunnar, Hem, Pep, Dash, Tasman, and Arve. I'm not sure some of these are even names! The only one I'm vaguely considering is Arve (though this could be pregnancy hormones). Would really appreciate your reactions to Arve.

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Your husbands’ suggestions sounds like names for a daschund. Remind him this poor child needs to live in the real world!
Love Thomas and Arthur, Samuel (Sam) is a bit wet.

I also think it sounds like a nickname for Harvey.

There are some really great Scandi boy names out there if you Google. I’m not keen on the names your husband picked.

My go-to pronunciation is RV like recreational vehicle. So no, not a fan if I’m honest. Not a fan of the other suggestions from your hubby either.

I like it but think you'll have a hard time getting it pronounced correctly. Do you/DH have Scandinavian heritage?

I much prefer your choice of names.

Is your DP Scandinavian?

When I saw 'Arve' I wondered if it were short for Harvey. It's better than Hem, Pep or Dash! Not too keen though.

I've heard of Gunnar and Tasman, but not the rest of his choices.
