Edward

Springinmystep82 · 27/02/2021 07:43

Dweeb? Which means what exactly??

Both lovely names.

ofwarren · 24/02/2021 16:46

Henry.
I really dislike Edward and Teddy, Ted

lovelsa · 24/02/2021 16:45

My eldest boy is Henry and I love it. It was the only boy name I always loved. We don't come across as many Henrys as you might think, more Harry's if anything.

Our second is Arthur (nn Archie).

Edward is a contender for baby #3 (due August). My only issue with Edward are the nicknames, I don't love Ed/Eddy/Ted/Ned, etc. I actually spoke with a nice teenager who was an Edward and he said he loves his name because it's traditional and classic, but not popular.

I truly don't think you can wrong with either!

Henry!

Firebird83 · 22/02/2021 23:20

Henry

Seasidemumma77 · 22/02/2021 22:49

I love both names equally

Voiceofreason92 · 22/02/2021 22:42

Completely biased as I have an Edward (We call him Ted).
There are two Henry’s in His class at school- they are forever known an Henry K and Henry L.

Arrierttyclock · 22/02/2021 19:21

Henry

HungLikeAPeg · 22/02/2021 16:02

I'm pretty sure Horrid Henry is still around as is Henry Hoover but no one thinks of those things when they see Henry Cavill. Ted is ok unless your surname starts with Bu or ends Dy

HungLikeAPeg · 22/02/2021 16:00

Edmund?

HungLikeAPeg · 22/02/2021 15:58

I don't think Henry is a dweeb name😀. Henry Ford, Henry VIII, Henry Hill etc.

I like both but at this moment in time I slightly prefer Edward.

Bruce2 · 22/02/2021 15:40

Edward

emmie841 · 22/02/2021 15:25

Henry

Theforest · 22/02/2021 15:17

Edward. Known as Ed or Eddie

ValleysGirl72 · 22/02/2021 15:03

Personally I like Henry and possibly less likely to be shortened, unless you call him Harry, but in that case, go for Harry first off

BuffaloMozzarella · 22/02/2021 13:21

I'm not keen on Edgar, Edmund or Edwin. I don't mind the Ted/Ned shortenings.

Edward. But Edgar and Edmund are even better.

Just don’t shorten it to Ted or Teddy.

MadeOfStarStuff · 22/02/2021 10:00

Henry

Snooks1971 · 21/02/2021 18:45

Yes both great names. You can’t go wrong. I’m married to an Edward and my best friend’s son is Henry (although I didn’t choose DH because of his name Grin)

OloBo · 21/02/2021 18:39

Edward

BallsToYouSue · 21/02/2021 18:24

I prefer Henry, but think Edward is more timeless...so can't decide either! Sorry, no help.

CatkinToadflax · 21/02/2021 18:00

Can I just say OP that you have excellent taste with both names. Wink

Fifthtimelucky · 21/02/2021 15:51

Henry is OK, but I'd definitely go for Edward.

Hahaha88 · 21/02/2021 09:57

I like Edward (much prefer Edwin though) but I really dislike Ed or Eddie, makes me think of someone a bit rough around the edges. Henry is fine but a bit meh imo
