Girls Names to go with surname Lowe

Paxpax · 16/02/2021 02:26

We are expecting a baby in June and I am struggling with girls names. Our last name is Lowe and I keep falling in love with a girls name, only to pair it with Lowe (pronounced low) and find it looks/sounds ridiculous.

Some recent examples

Sol Lowe
Lola Lowe
Willow Lowe
Margot Lowe
Juno Lowe
Florence (nn Flo) Lowe

Obviously I should stay away from "o" sounds...

Does anyone have similar names that will be a better match for the surname?

Thanks

Not names beginning with S.

S.Lowe would be a no-no for me.

lilacdinosaur · 20/09/2021 21:48

The first name that popped into my head before I read the thread was Abbie Lowe.
I think Alice would be nice too.

Hugoslavia · 20/09/2021 21:44

Helen..then you can shorten it to Hel lowe.

Help! Baby name to go with surname Apple

Boy and Girl as we don’t know what we’re having!

We already have a boy with a two syllable first name that ends in ie but we’re not stuck on ie for a second unless we love it. Don’t want Freddie/George/William due to friends already having them.

Girls names I loved are Niamh and Eve but a bit short with Apple? Boy we love Oscar but it’s my cats name 😭 Also, can’t have anything with Ru/Rupert etc as my sister has a similar name for her boy. 😭

Any suggestions welcome! TIA x

I agree with pp, avoid Os and Ls
I would go for something pronounced with the emphasis on first syllable, I think that's why pps 3 or 4 syllable names above work well.

Justine Lowe
Kathryn Lowe
Marianne
Yasmin or Jasmine

I love Katherine Lowe and Madeleine Lowe.

Longer names like Alexandra and Henrietta seem to work best.

IamnotwhouthinkIam · 16/02/2021 18:00

I think 3/4 syllables - without another "oh" sound, but perhaps a repeated L could sound nice/lyrical.

Elizabeth
Julia/Juliet
Celia/Cecilia
Thalia
Madeleine
Malia
Evelyn/Evelina
Adeline
Helena
Claudia
Alicia
Louisa - very alliterative/glam sounding with Lowe
Lilian - as above
