What do you think of the name Éamonn? Does it conjure up unwanted thoughts of Éamonn Holmes?

I also love Oisín, but it's off limits as it's the name of my nephew, whom I'm very close to. Any other good, vowely Irish names in a similar vein?

I quite like it.

My favourites are Rory and Eoin - both quite vowelly.

BeetyAxe · 09/02/2021 07:48

I love it, traditional Irish, soft and easy to spell and no pronunciation issues. Not ridiculously overused like Oisin and Aidan etc.

I like Killian.

Colman = mustard, surely?

PracticingPerson · 09/02/2021 07:32

I like the name but yes I just think Holmes. Not sure it matters? He's not cool but neither is he very dreadful.

It was on our list for DS but didn't use it in the end... my granny was not a fan of Dev and would have turned in her grave 😄

@Jolitofinjo

What about Eanna? Similar to Eamon. Nice and vowely. Sorry I'm missing my fadas.
Éanna is much nicer.

Not Éamon Holmes, but Éamon de Buitléar, Éamon de Valera, Éamon Casey, Éamon Coughlan, Éamon Andrews. Also the Bridget and Éamon comedy show.

It’s a real old man name for me, and very different to Oisín.

Smallonesaremorejuicy · 09/02/2021 05:35
