Love names like Theo, Leo, Tristan, Dylan, Valentine and Ewan. The proper soft sounding masc names. What are your favourite soft masc names.

This is all really down to personal choice. I think Owen and Theo are quite hard sounding masculine names whereas you give them as examples of soft names. To me, softer non-masculine boy names are Kelly, Kerry, Hilary, Corin - boy names that are now more commonly thought of as girl names.

Hercules
Voldemort
Dalek

@MichelleScarn

Do you mean soft as in the pronunciation is 'soft sounds' or soft as a description of the expectation of personality? Remember the 'that which we call a rose by any other name would smell as sweet..
Soft sounding. The quote got me though because I love the name Romeo so much

A friend of mine has an Eden. He’s a beautiful little boy and suits the name perfectly. She is due DC2 at the same time as me (we already know we are having a boy) and I have tried to get her to tell me her favourite boy names so I can try to steal one if she has a girl!

@JackieWeaverIsTheAuthority

Sorry I put in boy and it changed it to boi 🤦.

😂 yeah, sure!

I did, I've just had to update my autocorrect settings. I just wanted to see everyone's favourite soft boy names e.g. Owen, Theo, Noah

@KaptainKaveman

Shirley? I believe that's suitable for both genders.
Ditto Tracy - isn’t Ice T’s real name Tracy? Probably not what you want to hear though OP.
PursuingProxemicExactitude · 08/02/2021 13:26

The actual names mentioned are all perfectly nice, without their new label.

Kind of hoping the OP is wanting to name a fictional character rather than an actual tiny creature that might be expected to take a particular socially mediated shape.

borntobequiet · 08/02/2021 13:26

The only people I have seen spell boy like this are “too cool for school” teens who swagger a lot and pretend to be drug dealers. Is this your aspirational image?

JackieWeaverIsTheAuthority · 08/02/2021 13:25

HolyMusicalBman · 08/02/2021 13:24

Sorry I put in boy and it changed it to boi 🤦. Basically a soft sounding, boy name. Masc means masculine name

Thebusiness · 08/02/2021 13:24

So is it for a boy or a girl? Or is that the whole point?

LucasLeesEyebrows · 08/02/2021 13:24

I was looking to see if I had gone on to the doghouse board but nope.

TopTabby · 08/02/2021 13:23

What the?? Sounds like soft boiled.
Soft masc?? I'm older than I thought obviously (& glad).

Bluesheep8 · 08/02/2021 13:23

Soft boi means a feminine man name. Ffs it's not hard to figure out.

It is if you've never heard of it and haven't got a clue what the op is on about!

CandyLeBonBon · 08/02/2021 13:23

Soft boiled?

Glenchase · 08/02/2021 13:21

What does boi mean? Perhaps change your autocorrect settings to assist with your spelling.

KaptainKaveman · 08/02/2021 13:21

Shirley? I believe that's suitable for both genders.

JackieWeaverIsTheAuthority · 08/02/2021 13:18

Morph?

LadyCatStark · 08/02/2021 13:18

Are you wanting this kind of name for an actual, real baby or for yourself be use you want to be one of these “softbois”? If it’s for a real child, stop putting your woke values onto them and just give them a name you like, preferable one that fits with their gender or a gender neutral one if you must.

Twickerhun · 08/02/2021 13:15

Am I drunk or are you?

Alternista · 08/02/2021 13:15

Xerxes Grin

Seriously. There’s no such thing. People become who they’re going to become and their name takes shape around them.

Bluesername · 08/02/2021 13:14
Hmm
