Love names like Theo, Leo, Tristan, Dylan, Valentine and Ewan. The proper soft sounding masc names. What are your favourite soft masc names.

Why would you deliberately set out to give your son a girlie name?

Yeah, because all things feminine are inferior to all things male. It would be awful for a boy to be associated with anything feminine, wouldn’t it? Hmm

finallychangedmyusername · 08/02/2021 17:28

@TheYearOfSmallThings

This is like the time I accidentally brought DS to the LGBT baby group at the toy library. It took me a while to work out what was going on.
🤣

@CorianderBee

Soft boi means a feminine man name. Ffs it's not hard to figure out.
Ffs yourself - I thought it was a typo and couldn't understand the significance.

@Plutostar269

I actually know exactly what you mean, I think I am naturally drawn to ‘softer’ sounding names. Names like Noah, Theo, Arlo, Gabriel, basically vowel heavy names. Doesn’t mean the name holder is soft, I imagine the people with these type of names to grow up to be very handsome and kind! They’re more romantic to me than the ‘stronger’ sounding names. Don’t ask me why!
Thank you. This is exactly what I wanted! Some vowel heavy names that give off a softer sound than names like Ryker etc.

Thanks for those that answered. I'm up North and know soft lad and whatnot. I simply wanted some softer sounding names, like given Caspar, Fergus, Magnus etc. I wasn't meaning a soft personality, I simply wanted some names that weren't as masc and 'ooh I'm a big man' like Axel and Ryker

If you often use a spelling when you type, doesn't the phone correct it to that one? Therefore giving you the one you meant to use (even if you intended to use it anyway and are making excuses)?

Well I know what I mean by that, doubt anyone else will.

PolarnOPirate · 08/02/2021 15:57

Gus - Angus, fergus always seem quite soft to me
Gregory? It’s funny because I can see all these being big burly teddy bears too though. So is it that sort of soft we’re looking for, or weedy wimpy soft? 😄 this game is just crazy, a name doesn’t make a personality.

PrimeraVez · 08/02/2021 15:53

Weirdly I think I understand what you mean. And I think DS2’s name, Caspar, falls into this category.

LucasLeesEyebrows · 08/02/2021 15:49

Louis? Makes me think of Louis Walsh, who is definitely soft as shite

CrochetOrBust · 08/02/2021 15:47

Quentin
Julian
Magnus

viques · 08/02/2021 15:42

Vivian, Leslie, Evelyn, Francis, Robin.

BigPaperBag · 08/02/2021 15:39

Why would you deliberately set out to give your son a girlie name?

Dons hard hat and slopes off whistling innocently.

Backinthebox · 08/02/2021 15:36

I’ve tried on all my devices and at no point does ‘boy’ autocorrect on any of them to ‘boi.’ If I type in ‘boi‘ though, my iPad helpfully finishes off the word to ‘boil.’ Up north, ‘soft lad’ is definitely not something to aspire to. Nor is soft boiled.
