Love names like Theo, Leo, Tristan, Dylan, Valentine and Ewan. The proper soft sounding masc names. What are your favourite soft masc names.

Yes! Julian and August are great suggestions. Very soft boi (I think...?!)

MimiDaisy11 · 09/02/2021 12:18

Maybe I don't quite get what's being asked as it sounds a bit subjective but to me boys' names starting with "ju" sound quite soft. Like "Julian".

Bluesheep8 · 09/02/2021 11:40

Me too. And this thread has made me realise how long it's been since I last had a soft boi'd egg.

Agree with PP on Oisín -- that popped into my mind straight away. Not only is it vowel-heavy with a gentle "sh" sound, but it also has a sweet meaning (little deer).

MRSO5 · 08/02/2021 19:48

Soft to my ear at least

Noah
Dara
Arlo
Aaron
Josh
Sean
Seth

I have to admit when I saw the thread title , I thought it would be other names for testicles and scrotum, as in what do you call your DH's soft boi's ?

How about Evelyn, as in Waugh ?

Mangofandangoo · 08/02/2021 19:29

@TheQueef

Maude.
This made me squeal 😆

@CorianderBee

Soft boi means a feminine man name. Ffs it's not hard to figure out.
Ffs apparently it is. There seem to be plenty of us who have no idea what the hell is going on Hmm

no need at all for the Ffs

VenusClapTrap · 08/02/2021 19:11

My “Quite” was in response to Pluto, obviously.

Children bullying boys because their names are ‘girlie’ have learnt this behaviour from adults pedalling dinosaur attitudes that female things are inferior to male things, which your attitude shows you are perpetuating, Kaia.

Not that bullying happens about the sort of names on this thread anyway.

Fembot123 · 08/02/2021 19:10

I like Seth, not sure about the soft thing but it’s not a harsh sounding name.

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 08/02/2021 19:07

Ben. I haven't encountered a little Ben for years...

Bubblebu · 08/02/2021 19:03

can't believe a PP has said that the girls name "Heather" is butch.....
(PS I am not called Heather and I dont know anyone called Heather and I do think being butch is fine).....

JackieWeaver4PM · 08/02/2021 19:03

This is obviously a wind up thread but kids don't get bullied because of their names anyway.

VenusClapTrap · 08/02/2021 19:01

Quite.

Kaia20 · 08/02/2021 19:00

@Plutostar269

What you think someone will be bullied at school for being called Noah, Leo or Theo? Names which are in the top 10/20?? I think not. Softer doesn’t mean ‘girlie’. Not that there is anything wrong with being feminine, which luckily most people living in 2021 now realize.
@VenusFlapTrap questioned giving a boy a ‘girlie’ name. You responded to that. I responded to your response to that. Noah, Leo, or Theo weren’t mentioned. And yes, they would be bullied for having a ‘Girlie’ name and no, most people living in 2020 don’t
Plutostar269 · 08/02/2021 18:47

I forgot to tag, that was in response to @Kaia20

What a load of bollocks

Kaia20 · 08/02/2021 18:32

@VenusClapTrap

Why would you deliberately set out to give your son a girlie name?

Yeah, because all things feminine are inferior to all things male. It would be awful for a boy to be associated with anything feminine, wouldn’t it? Hmm

Nope, but it would be awful when he got bullied at school because of it.
