Penelope was my first choice girls name -nn was going to be Nel (had boys).
Will and Nel is not great but Will and Penny or indeed William and Penelope are fab.

@LaMarschallin

Re Bill and Pen, I don't know many people these days who choose to shorter William to Bill

True.
Not many people remember the Flower Pot men either.

Too young for that 😃

I was thinking Bill and Penny.... great names on their own, together maybe not. Especially if your surname is Ledger or Banks.

Lovely, and Will and Penny or Will and Nell are cute too.

Love William

Penelope is a name I want to love
I really do but something just reminds me of thunder birds too much.

I love other names along this theme though

Annabel
Juliette
Elizabeth
Vivien
Tabitha
Ophelia
Cecilia
Violet
Harriet

I so want to put Penelope here as it's beautiful & elegant and feminine...but I just think thunder birds. Sorry :(

I'm not that keen on Penelope - I personally don't like the sound but I also think a very classic, timeless name like William pairs better with similar style names imo - Elizabeth, Charlotte, Alice, Sarah, Helena, Louisa etc.

I like them, but can’t stand Penny - so wet - never known a Penelope not shortened to Penny so that would put me off - though I suppose you could impose Nell from the off.

They sound good together.

Mintchocchip35 · 07/02/2021 16:35

Does anyone know when Penelope first appeared in the UK top 100? I know William was around in 1900

Will & Penny also sounds good if they decide they like those shortenings.

DemiBourbon · 07/02/2021 15:07

I really like them.

Lovely
