So names like Grey, Indigo, Blue, Violet, Silver etc are quite popular.

What about Pink, Yellow, and Green?

Are there any untapped colour names?

Surely “Magnolia” is a flower, and the paint colour takes its name from that?

I used to know sisters called Ruby, Sienna and Scarlet.

MimiDaisy11 · 05/02/2021 08:19

Maybe look at colours in different languages? Blanche and Blanca... umm Noir, Azul, Amarillo, do any of those work? Probably not but maybe there are other ones.

SeanChailleach · 05/02/2021 08:15

I used to know a Gray. He was about 60 about 20 years ago.

Smallonesaremorejuicy · 05/02/2021 08:07

My Grandad's middle name was Silver. I was really Shock when I found out as it was so unusual. I absolutely loved it as it was so unusual. It seemed more special as a sort strange secret middle name for some reason to me. His Christian name was completely normal and common for his era.

grandmasterstitch · 05/02/2021 07:13

My DS pronounces cyan and Diane the same so that could work! As a side note I think Grey is awful! Grey is never associated with good things

HoratioNightboy · 05/02/2021 00:30

how about a boy named Denim?

We have one in our family! We hoped it was going to be spelled Denholm, given that the surname sort of relates to fabric. Hmm

MrsBobDylan · 04/02/2021 23:09

Goldie (unisex). Perfect for today's gender fluid generation.

ArchbishopOfBanterbury · 04/02/2021 22:44

And if we're going into paint colours, how about a boy named Denim?

ArchbishopOfBanterbury · 04/02/2021 22:43

I know sisters Teale and Blu. Admittedly, in the US, not UK.

timeisnotaline · 04/02/2021 22:34

Cyan of course! And ruby, periwinkle (perry for short), ash, mint. Teal?

diddlediddle · 04/02/2021 20:51

All wonderful suggestions so far. Magnolia, interesting. We could stray into paint colours. Elephants breath?
