What do you reckon for a girl born on 1 Feb?
(Not me, just this is At Bridget's day).

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

I really like it and would have considered it for dd but we already have a Bridget in the family and it wouldn't have been appropriate.

One of my posh friends at uni had a sister called Bridget. She used to call her Biggie as a nickname, and sometimes Big-shit which I found hilarious. But probably Bridget didn't.

Sheleg · 01/02/2021 17:28

Horrible, harsh sound.

YoniAndGuy · 01/02/2021 16:52

Mmm, not really.

I don't quite know why. I think I just don't like that the first bit is 'bridge'. It isn't the nicest sounding.

Like Bridie though.

Oblomov21 · 01/02/2021 16:37

Really don't like it.

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 01/02/2021 16:36

Lovely name - unless your surname is Jones, then I'd advise against it!

chipsandgin · 01/02/2021 16:35

Jones? Maybe it’s just my age, but it’s what immediately springs to mind!

TansyViolet · 01/02/2021 16:34

I love Bridie.

OnlyFoolsnMothers · 01/02/2021 16:31

Hate it!!! I’d hate to be called it, old battle axe springs to mind

SionnachRua · 01/02/2021 16:30

Due a comeback imo. Bridie can stay out in the cold though!

LadyEloise · 01/02/2021 16:28

Sweet Jesus- Bridie is making a comeback !!!!

Smile
Chailatteplease · 01/02/2021 16:18

Really don’t like it.

IndiaMay · 01/02/2021 16:17

I like Bridget and didnt think I would but it's on our list. I love the name Etta but we weren't sure whether it was ok as a name on it's own. DH grandmother is Bridget and we thought we could use bridget NN Etta

midsomermurderess · 01/02/2021 15:14

Perfect.

Synchrony · 01/02/2021 14:54

I like it. It's a nice contrast to all the soft sounding names these days (I'm not personally a fan of soft names but am obviously in the minority).

finallychangedmyusername · 01/02/2021 14:06

I quite like Bridget. I like the crisp et ending (as with Juliet, Charlotte, Margaret, Violet) but not the Bridge part (and I don't like Bridge as a potential nickname). A Bridget would be upbeat and cheerful. It's a cheerful name.

SeanChailleach · 01/02/2021 14:04

I used to always think of bridges, and there are some beautiful bridges.

Love it

Woodlandbelle · 01/02/2021 13:39

Nope and I have a close relative with the name.

Peachbubble · 01/02/2021 13:36

Nope, sorry don't like it all, there some much nicer names out there.

WellityWellityWellity · 01/02/2021 13:31

Love it! Nn Bridie

Kokeshi123 · 01/02/2021 13:19

I LOVE it.

ButwhereisMYcoffee · 01/02/2021 13:13

Love love love it. Love Bridie too.

emmathedilemma · 01/02/2021 13:12

I think it's old fashioned and not in a trendy sort of way. Sorry.

SmeleanorSmellstrop · 01/02/2021 12:27

I want to like it. I love Saint names. I am trying really hard to like it. I like the idea of it. It it just so sort of harsh. But i will talk myself around soon. And if I met a baby Bridget now, I wouldn't think 'yuck'. I'd think 'I'm jealous that they like the name Bridget because I REALLY want to like it.'

Dontknownow86 · 01/02/2021 12:14

It's in my top 5
