Do you love it or hate it? 😎

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Top tip fellow MNetters. Don’t get curious about people’s thoughts on your 3mo’s name on this forum... unless your skin is pretty thick. Lesson learnt. 😂

Hate it - it's such a prissy, wet name (or a good name for a sweet dairy cow...).

earthyfire · 02/02/2021 01:51

Love it

tableanadchairs · 01/02/2021 23:50

Absolutely awful name. Please don’t inflict that on any child 👶

ImsorryWilson · 01/02/2021 23:48

You’d get called Hill.
Unless you name actually was Hill.
Then you might get called Dale....

snowliving · 01/02/2021 23:47

I think it is a nice vintage name.

Porridgeoat · 01/02/2021 23:44

Peony

Porridgeoat · 01/02/2021 23:43

Not keen but adore Rose

WagnerTheWehrWolf · 01/02/2021 23:41

Poor Mrs Shipman didn't even do any of the murdering. She just had the bad luck to marry a serial killer. All that aside it's a really twee name. Fine for a pet though.

sskanky · 01/02/2021 19:37

I don't think you're setting up your daughter to be taken very seriously in life with a name like Primrose. Sorry.

YawnyOwl · 01/02/2021 19:35

@LeonaMar

I love it. Primrose and Rosemary were in my possible girl names list
I love these bands but they make me think of primrose Shipman and rosemary west!!
ILoveShula · 01/02/2021 19:33

I'm not keen on flower names.as names for girls. Primrose seems a bit try-hard.

VenusClapTrap · 01/02/2021 13:51

I love it. Also love Marigold, Rosemary, Nerine and Narcissa (although sadly the last one has hugely unfortunate connotations, or I would have used it).

Confusednewmum1 · 31/01/2021 20:50

Prefer Pru, Rosie, Penny, Posie - to primrose/prim

Coconutfatfeast · 31/01/2021 20:38

Primrose is nice. I worked with the loveliest lady who shortened it to Prim. I’ve never heard of Primrose Shipman and I doubt anyone of your DC’s generation will have done either.

apric0t · 31/01/2021 20:20

Ooh I love Primrose, going to suggest it to the hubby...

bridgetreilly · 31/01/2021 20:18

I'm not a huge fan. How about Priscilla instead?

mamablondie33 · 31/01/2021 19:08

I love it and think of the Hunger Games. Love the Prim shortening as well!

The Harold shipman references are a sign of age I’m afraid! I’ve heard of him but no idea who Primrose is. I don’t think a baby Primrose in 2021 will have to worry about that association surely?

WellityWellityWellity · 31/01/2021 13:03

I'm not keen on the Prim part tbh. It sounds prissy.

How about Posie?

SirVixofVixHall · 31/01/2021 12:51

I agree with Samantha that it is a bit twee for an adult woman, although sweet on a little girl. I also think of Mrs Shipman, sadly, as the actual name and flower are both lovely really.
Maybe better as a middle name ?

Dulcinae · 31/01/2021 12:47

I'd be charmed to meet a little Primrose, but I wouldn't use it myself.

MercyBodle · 31/01/2021 12:24

I love it.

samanthawashington · 31/01/2021 09:55

Bit of a mouthful for a child, and too twee for a grown woman. Shame because it's lovely and my MIls name

daisypond · 30/01/2021 23:47

I like it. Prima Rosa - first rose.

SuperHighway · 30/01/2021 23:34

It's a lovely name for a rabbit, or possibly a cow, but a human child? Just no.
