I really like the names zee and nancy although I'm not sure what other people will think of them, what your opinions

Oh i forgot xanthe! Xanthe is a great name and a total compromise on zee and nancy. I went to 6th form with a xanthe in the 90’s. She was effortlessly cool.

SunshineXX1 · 30/01/2021 08:14

I love initials as nicknames.

Zee could be Zoe, Zinnia, Zelda, Zuleika

or Xanthe or Xenia.

Nancy is a lovely name too, but quite plain and simple by comparison.

Modestandatinybitsexy · 30/01/2021 08:07

I love Zelda with Zee as a nickname.

finallychangedmyusername · 30/01/2021 07:59

Meant to add, anything with a zee sound might suit you? Maisie, Daisy, Izzy (nickname for Isabel/Isabella).

finallychangedmyusername · 30/01/2021 07:55

Nancy is great and I can see Zadie has already been suggested - perfect combination of the two (I agree that Zee is not a name).

Zoe and Zara are fantastic names.

Another suggestion - Eliza (has a similar vibe to Nancy and contains a z)

TheVanguardSix · 29/01/2021 12:08

My friend's daughter Zelda is Z (in America, so she's Zee... we don't say 'zed' but 'zee' for the letter Z). I love her nickname 'zee' and I love the name Zelda.
As an American, I find Nancy a suffocating name.

ZednotZee · 29/01/2021 12:07

How about Zed? Wink

bleachblondemom · 29/01/2021 12:05

Love the name Nancy, Zee is a bit meh, it’s got no nice ring to it.

Screenburn · 29/01/2021 09:35

Avoid Zee - if you’d ever be tempted to call her Zee-Zee (‘zizi’, pronounced the same, is an informal word for penis in French)

RainingBatsAndFrogs · 29/01/2021 08:41

Nancy is a great name.

MercyBodle · 29/01/2021 08:37

I like Nancy. Zee could be a nickname for a name beginning with Z such as Zelda.

SkeletorAttack · 29/01/2021 06:09

Of the two, Nancy is nicest.

Zee is either an American pronunciation of a letter Z or a nickname.

EdgeOfACoin · 29/01/2021 06:08

Zee could work as a nn for Zinnia.

I dislike Nancy.

ladyjadie · 29/01/2021 03:37

I like zee, but it would have to be short for something or it would just always have that American ‘twang’ to it for me. Zara, Zsazsa, Zoe, Zamara, Zeche, Zhera, Zendaya, Zoloft. Lots of opportunity for pretty names with a cute NN

Runkle · 29/01/2021 02:22

Zee just sounds like a noise, sorry.

Smallonesaremorejuicy · 29/01/2021 02:18

Nancy would be my choice .

SmeleanorSmellstrop · 29/01/2021 02:07

Nancy is an amazing name. Sassy and cool and vintage and pretty and basically every positive adjective I can think of to apply to a name applies to Nancy, in my opinion.

Zee? Agree it doesnt sound like a name at all. I would suggest Zadie or Zara whicj are both beautiful and classy but uncommon.

percheron67 · 29/01/2021 01:05

Zee?!! Are you expecting a baby or a Zebra? Nancy is fine.

YukoandHiro · 29/01/2021 01:03

I love the name Nancy. I wanted it for DD2 but DH vetoed. I have a friend with that name and she absolutely loves it

IamnotwhouthinkIam · 29/01/2021 00:45

Nancy is very trendy now (and yet still sounds dated to me) so I'm not keen personally .

Zee would make a cool nickname for any girls name beginning with Z or with a zee sound but it's too insubstantial as a given name imo (what about Zia/Xia or Xena/Zena or maybe Zinnia or Zelda?)

HelloDulling · 28/01/2021 19:40

Love them both.

Twickerhun · 28/01/2021 19:39

In my language zee is a boys name meaning owner

Twickerhun · 28/01/2021 19:34

Nancy is lovely.
zee no - check the meaning and use in other languages.

partyatthepalace · 28/01/2021 19:32

Zee is not a name! Nancy is nice.

FatkinsDiet · 28/01/2021 19:23

Nancy is lovely! Not super common, but well known enough to not be a pain to explain every time she introduces herself when she's a bit older. Great choice Smile
