Aristocratic/posh names for boys
Middle names too would be great!
Examples
St John
Ptolemy
Rufus
Crispin
Edward

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Dickon

Christopher, BUT never known as Chris for short - always Topher or Kester

pursuedbyablackdog · 23/01/2021 10:12

Maximilian
Montgomery (monty)
Names of the royal family....you can't get much more aristocratic than that!

RickOShay · 23/01/2021 10:11

Love Rollo.
Also Sholto, Diggory and Dickon.

XaviersMum1 · 23/01/2021 10:10

@WeBuiltThisBuffetOnSausageRoll we knew there was the ex-zay-V-er pronunciation like on X Men (I picked the name, I never watched the movies, k just like it) but his surgeon when he was tiny is Italian so used the za-V-air pronunciation and then did his incredibly posh doctor. We also get za-V-ay which I hate.

pinkstripeycat · 23/01/2021 10:10

When I was at school the roughest child was called Tristan so it’s definitely never been a posh name to me. Julian was really popular in the 70s as well

Buttybach · 23/01/2021 10:09

Jonty!

ErrorDetected · 23/01/2021 10:08

Proper poshos I knew were called Peter, David, Lucy and John.

WeBuiltThisBuffetOnSausageRoll · 23/01/2021 10:08

I am SO hoping that there is somebody out there called G. K. Ffarquar who takes huge advantage of their friends' butlers and 'borrows' and sells priceless old masters or family heirlooms!

TweeterandtheMonkeyman · 23/01/2021 10:08

@BertieBotts ooh Max De Winter definitely posh!

Hoppinggreen · 23/01/2021 10:07

Atticus

Kljnmw3459 · 23/01/2021 10:07

William

pursuedbyablackdog · 23/01/2021 10:06

Hector

And it quite funny when we meet actual posh families with sons of the same name and they look us up and down our scruffy existence. One mum even has number plate on her Evoke with the boys name on it. Quite a push present!

SleepingStandingUp · 23/01/2021 10:06

@Toffeefee23

The people who picked names like Atticus, Horatio are more pretentious, trying to be posh types
Or they're just picking beautiful names. Are they too common to be allowed beautiful names??
xHeartinacagex · 23/01/2021 10:06

Caspian
Sebastian
Tristan
Crispin

Jigglyjugs · 23/01/2021 10:05

Florian, I really like it since I heard the name on Hey Duggee but it's far too fancy for my family. Especially as my married surname essentially means tramp Grin

TweeterandtheMonkeyman · 23/01/2021 10:05

@Toffeefee23 agreed!

Henry , Charlotte that kind of thing. Kings or Queens, the occasional old family name.

The landed gentry near me are called Hugh, Viola and Tamara!

Dowermouse · 23/01/2021 10:04

Ds has a name from the posh list, it sticks out a mile in a school where the catchment is partly families full of children with hyphenated, made up, phonetically spelt names. We give not a fuck.

Littlefish · 23/01/2021 10:04

Inigo

YesPleaseMary · 23/01/2021 10:01

Rupert
Giles
Henry
Hugo
Benedict
Jasper

Scarby9 · 23/01/2021 09:57

Oberon
Montmorency
Digby
Horace
Horatio
Merlin

HappydaysArehere · 23/01/2021 09:56

Would choose Ashley. Really like it.

AuntieStella · 23/01/2021 09:54

John

Or Charles, Andrew, Edward, William, Henry, George, James, Peter, Louis

Toffeefee23 · 23/01/2021 09:53

I know a lot of very posh people & they all picked classic names eg Henry, William, Edward, Alexander
