Leonora

What do people think of Leonora? I quite like the option of Leo - quite like the boy nickname for a girl - but also Nora (the more feminine sounding option).

I know Leo is quite popular for boys at the moment but don't know any Leonora's.

Anything else in a similar vein I should consider?

Oooh I love it! Haven't heard the name for years - last time for me too was FMF The Good Soldier (which I now want to read again!)

Totally underused and very lovely name, go for it!

My grandmother was Leonora Emmaline. She was usually called Nora.

I've known a few Leonies, but for me Leonora will always be Leonora Ashburnham from "The Good Soldier" (his long-suffering wife)!

I love it!

Elora is a name I hear occasionally. Also Elara. But I've never met a Leonora.

Loooove Leonora but I just couldn't convince DH it was usable 😒 so many nickname options... I saw Leo, Nell, Leni and Nora all mentioned on baby name boards when i obsessively stalked this name online while pregnant. Its sort of girly but in a strong and dignified way. It sounds like the name a European princess or the heroine in a beautiful old poem - in fact, it might be both of these things now I think about it. And so underused!

I love it. Can't think of anything similar though. Apart from Elora, the baby in the film Willow!
