What do people think of Leonora? I quite like the option of Leo - quite like the boy nickname for a girl - but also Nora (the more feminine sounding option).

I know Leo is quite popular for boys at the moment but don't know any Leonora's.

Anything else in a similar vein I should consider?

Leonora is lovely, as a Leona I prefer Leonora 😂
I do love Nora/Norah in its own right to be honest. It’s on my list alongside with Willow and Olive on yours.

I really like it. I knew a Leonora when I was little, haven’t met one since. Leo is a nice nn, can’t abide Nora.

Really like Serena.

Love it, both Leonora and Leanora was at the top of our list if DS2 had been a girl (he has a very different name after a relative).

Thanks for the feedback! I'd be inclined to go with the Leo nickname over Nora personally, which rules out Elora as you can't really get to that. Not mad about Leonor (I get the Lenor connection, and feels quite spanish when we've got zero spanish heritage)

Second favourite name is Nina, but also like Isobel, Serena, Anya, Willow, Olive, Imogen, Lily. Also like Margot but wouldn't work with surname.

Just got to hope I'm having a girl now... boys names feel much harder!

I know a Leonora. It's really a mouthful to say and I feel like it's a name that sounds pretty when you first hear it but in reality it's actually not that nice a name.

It doesn't if pronounced properly. It does if you're trying to read it in English without considering its actual origins.

I've never met one or thought much about it before, but I really like it. Other names with the same sort of feel - maybe Aurelia or Miranda?

Leonora is elegant and beautiful. Unfortunately, Nora is exactly the opposite. I do like Leo or Lennie/Leni as a diminutive though.

I did used to know Leonor actually. She was from Madrid. Very cool character and very clever. I slightly prefer Leonora though, which is very melodic to me.

I prefer Leonor. Leonora gives me a different vibe, similar to Theodora/Isadora which I'm not particularly keen on.

I don't like Leonora that much as I've never been keen on the "Nora" sound (or "Dora" for that matter - as in the similar Theodora). Weirdly the similar Cora or Laura sound fine to me. I also don't mind Lenore so much (makes me think of Edgar Allan Poe) but that's probably been ruined by the fabric softener!
