*and call them

BeingATwatItsABingThing · 19/01/2021 10:46

@Scarby9

I agree about avoiding the Berk abbreviation in the UK. It sounds as if you like BK names, not just B names, and surname type names too. So what about: Baker Ryan Barclay Ryan Brinkley Ryan Brenkley Ryan Backley Ryan Bracken Ryan Brackley Ryan Braxton Ryon
A superb list! I sincerely hope I have 8 more children so I can use all of these as call them my Backstreet (another name suggestion for the BK sound?) Boyz!!
Amdone123 · 19/01/2021 10:41

Brooke is dated for a girl. And Berkeley reminds me of a packet of cigarettes.
Agree with a pp. Briony ( spelt this way is lovely), and Benjamin is a great name.
What else do you like ??

ProudAuntie76 · 19/01/2021 10:39

Brooke is nice

Berkeley is bloody awful.

RileyG73 · 19/01/2021 10:37

Brooke is fine, I like it!

Twinkie01 · 19/01/2021 10:35

They're both frightful

bonnieimi · 19/01/2021 10:27

I like Brooke for a girl, not keen if it's a boy.

I really don't like Berkeley for either gender, sorry.

Is the name for a boy or a girl?

SmeleanorSmellstrop · 19/01/2021 10:18

Brooke seems like a girls name and Berkeley a dogs name. Any others on the list?

Kanaloa · 19/01/2021 10:03

Oh or Brodie.

Kanaloa · 19/01/2021 10:03

Brooke is nice for a girl. Berkeley is awful for a boy or girl. For a boy, I like Blake, which you might also like, or maybe Brady.

PistolKnight · 19/01/2021 09:54

Berkeley is rhyming slang for cunt
And shortens to berk

smoothchange · 19/01/2021 09:52

Berkeley = cigarettes.

MercyBodle · 19/01/2021 09:49

I like Brooke.

PLAYJAJADINGDONG · 19/01/2021 09:40

Euro 🤣🤣

The true king B name 🙌

EuroTrashed · 19/01/2021 09:31

BALONZ

starfishmummy · 19/01/2021 09:29

Im not keen on either but I guess Brooke would be better. You're going to condemn the child to lofelong issues of pronunciation with Berkley (burkley or barkley...)

PattyPan · 19/01/2021 09:25

Neither. Berkeley isn’t a given name Hmm

Bethany?

Winterwaves · 19/01/2021 08:59

OP are you in the UK?

FlyingByTheSeatof · 19/01/2021 08:58

Both are pretty awful

MrsWaititi · 19/01/2021 08:52

Neither.

SoupDragon · 19/01/2021 08:52

🤔 You absolutely can't call a child Berk.

ImAncient · 19/01/2021 08:51

Oh yes meet my child Braxton Hicks Hmm

If you like unusual B names I think Bryony can be quite pretty for a girl. I agree about Benjamin for a boy.

AuntieStella · 19/01/2021 08:50

Berkeley could all too easily be changed to Berk, which is not nice.

And of course lots of people will pronounce it wrongly (because they'll sight read it)

And that it's half of rhyming slang for 'cunt' would put me off forever.

Other B names - on the basis that Brooke is a girl's name and I'm assuming Ryan here is a transferred family surname which goes in the middle where usual sex doesn't matter:

Barbara, Beulah, Bridie (Bridgit), Beverley

Fieldofyellowflowers · 19/01/2021 08:49

Are you in the UK, OP? Are you having a boy or girl?

Brooke is a nice name for a girl. I have never heard of a boy having that name.

Berkeley sounds more like a boy's name and in the UK, as others have said, it will likely get shortened to Berk.

inquietant · 19/01/2021 08:44

Brooke is ok for a girl a la Brooke Shields, but Berkeley is all kinds of wrong imo.

The list above is pretty Hmm

The king B name is Benjamin.
