Lucy or Marianne?

All right dear MN, I now believe after maaany hours debating that we have our winning duo for DD due in February:
Marianne
Or
Lucy

Which one do you prefer and why? What kind of little girl do you imagine for both?

Our surname is one syllable, both go well with it.

Nobody ever calls their dog Marianne. I dont dislike Lucy, it's just not as elegant.

I think Lucy is a great classic name! I don't like Marianne at all to be honest.

It's beautiful, less common than Lucy, and it goes better with a short surname

@AnnaSW1we considered Anna as well as it’s a very pretty name. Why do you prefer Lucy? Is it that you dislike Marianne or another reason?
Interested in peoples opinions!
