Also... would a colleague naming their child your top name during your pregnancy make you change your option or would you keep it?

I would be unlikely to use a name that a colleague had just used relatively recently, but then I managed to give dd2 a super popular name without realising. I'd never met any at baby groups or anything with dd1. Turned out to be top 10 and met several since, although she is the only one in her school.

I think it would put me off to be honest. I’m close to a colleague who’s due a couple of months before me and I’m already dreading her choosing the same name as me, even though I know the odds are slim haha!

Colleague - if she’s just a common or garden colleague, do what you like. If you are fond of her or need to avoid pissing her off, then I’d avoid the name if it’s unusual - but if it’s a normalish name crack on.
