Juniper is my preference, Josephine is DH's

OP posts:

Not Juniper, unless you want her called Ju, JuJu, Juny.

How about Jennifer Juniper, like the Donovan song?

Both...I slightly prefer Juniper as a name but the nn for Josephine..so would probably go for Josephine as most people shorten...

Although I know a fair few 3 syllable named children that always have the full name no nn

Juniper in my head is cooler/slightly more quirky..
Josephine more elegant/wafty/classic so as a a klutzy nerdy clumsy chunky family probably would go for Juniper as no child likely to ever waft.. :)

You could go with Juno as a nn rather than
June. I've never heard Juniper as a name but if you like it then go for it. I'm not made on Josephine (nor Josie as a nn).

NataliaOsipova · 14/01/2021 10:07

Josephine, definitely. Classic, lots of potential shortenings. I think Juniper is awful, honestly. Really try hard.

ParisJeTAime · 14/01/2021 10:06

Not just Jo / Josie, but Fee and Effie too.

ParisJeTAime · 14/01/2021 10:05

Josephine.

I also prefer the potential shortenings with Josephine.

I adore juniper, if I have a girl I'd call them juniper, its gorgeous!

galaxy9 · 14/01/2021 09:59

I like Josie but not Josephine and Juniper is a bit of a mouthful but it’s nicer

toastofthetown · 14/01/2021 09:59

I prefer Josephine. Juniper seems almost painfully trendy to me, whereas Josephine is more classic.

Marvelina · 14/01/2021 09:59

I love Juniper

bourbonne · 14/01/2021 09:58

Josephine. It's lovely in a soft, old-fashioned, romantic way. And Josie is an easy nickname.
Don't like Juniper at all. It just doesn't feel like a name to me.

Ithinkhedidit · 14/01/2021 09:56

Much prefer Juniper. Josephine sounds very dated to me.

Santaiscovidfree · 14/01/2021 09:54

Have you considered which nn each would have? June/Junie is awful imo. Jo /Josie are fine.

Justcashnosweets · 14/01/2021 09:52

They are both lovely names, I think I would go for Josephine if it was me though.
