Which do you prefer?

I know a Daisy that is a barrister, certainly not cutesy or twee. More like poised and cool.
But I like both names.

Sophia

KY2021 · 14/01/2021 19:56

Sophia

Not relevant but I always think if they're fair then Sophie is more fitting and if they're dark then Sophia. No idea where that came from but I thought it once and it's stuck 😄

@Sway19 wow what a nasty comment, hopefully it’s just isolation getting to you and you’re not actually a spiteful person?

Fwiw Daisy is the name of my younger sister who we lost when she was just 6 (I was a fair bit older at 14). Our Daisy was into everything but particularly loved helping my dad out with mechanics (he was a tractor mechanic). She was bright, chatty and happy and all the things you’d expect a Daisy to be. I like to think she was a glorious namesake for the flower, not the other way around Grin for that reason I’d choose Daisy.

Sophia is also lovely too - what middle names are you considering?

Jellington · 14/01/2021 19:44

Love them both

daisypond · 14/01/2021 19:43

Sophia. I’m not keen on Daisy. There are worse names, though.

NoraK · 14/01/2021 19:28

I'm sure Daisy the forensic pathologist is excellent and respected in her role.
I don't judge a person by their name, I do judge those who judge others by theirs though - narrow minded springs to mind.
I went to university with a Daisy, the only Daisy I knew then and I was so envious of her name!

emmie841 · 14/01/2021 19:23

@Sway19 I don't think it's helpful or kind to pass comments like this.

@Sway19- that was a bit rude!

Snuffleupagus2021 · 14/01/2021 18:59

I love Sophie tbh - Sophia slightly less for no particular reason.

Less keen on Daisy just because I like a strong name and as others have said, Daisy is a bit cutesy.

pantherrose · 14/01/2021 18:49

I love both! ( not helpful I know)

Firebird83 · 14/01/2021 18:27

Sophia

Sausagedog1 · 14/01/2021 13:29

Daisy

VelvetKitty · 14/01/2021 12:24

Love Daisy!!

YoniAndGuy · 14/01/2021 12:12

I'd go for Sophie rather than Sophia.

Sophia is overused and sounds so much fussier. Sophie's lovely and has the light simplicity of Daisy, but it's so much nicer - Daisy's a bit nothingy really.

noblegreenk · 14/01/2021 12:04

Sophia

baumwolle · 14/01/2021 11:56

The only adult Daisy I know (in her 20s) hates it - cutesy and a lack of nickname potential, unless you use it as a nickname for Margaret in the first place.

micc · 14/01/2021 11:55

I prefer Daisy :)

ParisJeTAime · 14/01/2021 11:52

Daisy Ridley is a cool, not twee, namesake. Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom have a baby Daisy too and I think they are a cool, non twee couple too Smile.

I don't understand why Daisy the forensic pathologist is "oh dear" at all Confused

Chilldonaldchill · 14/01/2021 11:48

@Sway19

Daisy the forensic pathologist - oh dear!
Why "oh dear"? Your comments make it sound as though you have quite narrow experiences of life. I know doctors called Ellie and Poppy and Emmie and Tabbi and Milly. I am a bit of a name snob but not because of the limitations they cause to people's professions.
Sway19 · 14/01/2021 11:21

Daisy the forensic pathologist - oh dear!

Trickyboy · 14/01/2021 11:18

My 'Daisy' is a 26 year old forensic pathologist. I love her to bits but 'cutesy' or 'twee' she definitely isn't ! .

Sway19 · 14/01/2021 11:14

Sophia. It’s beautiful and elegant.

Imagine a 50 year old professional called Daisy - cringe!

SmeleanorSmellstrop · 14/01/2021 11:07

Daisy is so cool and fresh!

Sophia ... Well. I'm sure it was nice once, but it has been ruined by every female child in the world being named Sophia for the last ten years! 😂

Harvey3 · 14/01/2021 09:58

Sophia
