Hi!
Looking for fancy/upper class/posh boys names!
I know I know, 'class,' but need them for a middle name list.
Thank you :-)
Examples include Rupert etc.

The very poshest males I know (titles, large estates, certain amount of inbreeding) are all called things like Andrew, Peter, Thomas, Edward. So the antithesis of fancy. Middle names often have a family geographical context, say Arundel but always have a 'reason' (ahem, snobbery).

The next rung down (bit of poshness plus usually some trade) are where it gets more fun - I know two Lysanders (a bit to my surprise, both rather like their names and are perfectly nice people).

Miles, Piers, Hector are all kind of ok (in my warped perspective)

@ElaineMarieBenes, Tasker isn't welsh. No K in Welsh, and it's an occupation surname - Task+er.

Middle name suggestion is Peregrine.

Let's face it, there are no rough Peregrines wandering around

Anything not especially popular and generally at least 3 syllables tends to sound "fancy" to me (particularly older Classical names) eg. Thaddeus, Octavian, Balthazar, Ulysses, Cornelius, Nicodemus, Mordecai, Septimus, Augustus, Aurelius etc

@DuchenneParent

I always liked Phineas, which I think fits the category!

Although, I think traditional names like James, Edward, George, etc sound just as, or often, more actual upper class. Names like Tarquin are often used aspirationally.

Phineas is very brave but pretty cool :)

You can also have Tolly from Bartholomew if Ptolemy is a bridge too far

@BlueChampagne ....Excellent list.

I think things that have become "comically posh" now (Tarquin, Rupert etc) now sound really crass.

@FATEdestiny

Ptolemy (nn Tolly)

My absolute favourite bonkers posh name. I don't have the guts to use it. Nice name for a cat too.

Love this too! I'd never be brave enough though!
