I have one, so am biased! I liked the Jane Austen connection and DH just liked the name. Also we liked that it probably wouldn't date and that it travels well.

I do hear it a bit more now than when she was a baby. She is 6. When she was born there were tonnes of Emilys and Amelias, but no Emmas in our acquaintance. I hear it sometimes now, but still don't think it's mega popular.

I am one.
I like my name, easy to spell, easy to shortern/nickname if that’s your thing. It’s never struck me as overly popular as I don’t often meet any other Emma’s and I come into contact with lots of small babies through work and I’ve not met many there either.

It's surprisingly popular in the USA at the moment - I think they missed the 'Emma' trend in the 80s.

I would say it's a classic, there were plenty of Emma's born in 60s/70s/80s and also in the past 20 years so I don't associate it with the 90s
