Muireann is mainly pronounced Mwirren in Ireland. It's hard to try and write the pronounciation! I love it and was going to call our last child that but it turned out he was a boy!

Well Lyra is the main character in a current BBC drama (yes based on a book) as PP said so that's what a lot of people will associate it with

Ah. Lyra is the lead from His Dark Materials, a flagship BBC show that has run for two series. Using it mow would look like you’d named your kid after the TV show and probably hadn’t read the book.

I love Muireann but Murron is clunky. I love Morven though, do you like that?

I've never heard of a Lyra in a tv show. It's a name we came across in a names book and both liked.
We don't watch much TV.

I also just realised that I left one of our names off of our original post!

If anyone wants so say where Ellis would rank with the names in my OP, it's also a contender.

Lyra seems to be too obviously related to a tv show and I don't like the idea of it being so obvious who the child was named after (if it's a tv show) but that doesn't bother everyone

There are other such names like Arya from Game of Thrones

Murron must be an anglicisation of Muireann, surely? I don’t like the spelling at all. It’s harsh and ugly, when the original is a beautiful Gaelic name.

I really like Anya, Cora and Natalia a lot from your list.

I'd you've ever seen the move Braveheart - it's the name of William Wallace's wife in the movie.

Natalia or Thea for me with Eleni as a possibility. I think Eleni won’t age well.

Of those, only Thea and Jessica are names I would actually consider. Murron is awful.

Murron - i thought this was a boy's name. It can't compare to the other lovely names on your list.
Lyra - love it, and what a cool namesake!
Cora - it's pretty but prefer Clara
Jessica - very dull to me
Eleni - gorgeous! Unusual, lovely.
Thea - pretty

I dont know what i would choose as i love most of them! Anya, Natalia, Lyra or Eleni ❤️
