Girls names beginning with L

Hi all,

Wondered if I could get some opinions on these girls names begining with L. Or had any suggestions we might not have thought of.
The middle name will be Iris as it is a family name.
Surname begins with a V and is 4 syllables.

The names on the list are:
Lotta, Livia, Lydia, Louisa, Lena

I quite like Laurie, Libby and Lissy but I think they might be too nicknamey?

Opinions? Ideas?

Yes, Lotta is horrible. It reminds me of clots and Lotto and 'Gotta Lotta Bottle.' Awful.

Only ones I really dislike are Lotta and Lissy.
The others are lovely.
I loved Lydia when I was pregnant but turned out some random family member on DH side had the name so he didn't want to use it.

I have a Lydia. Everyone comments on how much they love her name and we've not met another yet.

I also knew a Swedish Linnea... I hadn't thought about it but will add to the list

Thanks for all your input.

The Lydia/Chlamydia thing I had not realised. Lydia is my middle name. But I can't seem to unhear it!

I like Lucia but I know quite a lot of Lucy and Lucies. Also DPs Italian family would pronounce it differently to the German and English family.

We are looking at the ideas together :)

  1. Lotta - Will get "Lot a ..." jokes, not a name that works in the UK really
  2. Livia - I really like it but seems to be a marmite name
2/3. Lydia - nice and classic 2/3. Louisa - as above, nice and classic feeling
  1. Lena - more of a nn in the UK (unlike in Europe) but it's useable

Laurie, Libby and Lissy - yes much too nickname.

My favorite L names are Lilia and Lara, as I think they have a lovely sound (although I also have a soft spot for classic Laura, exotic Linnea and romantic Lorna as well).
