Hi,
Really struggling with settling on a girls name for DD2. DD1 is an Isla. Surname is fairly long. We have the below list. What are your opinions on them?

Sienna
Halle
Phoebe
Darcie
Isabelle
Polly
Marnie

Thanks

I love Darcie (would have spelt it Darcy though) my DH vetoed it though. It seems to be a marmite name.

Sawyersfishbiscuits · 01/01/2021 15:08

Halle & Polly are lovely.

I like Phoebe too

finallychangedmyusername · 01/01/2021 14:55

Polly is by far my favourite. Marnie is also ok. I wouldn't use Isabelle with Isla. Phoebe I personally dislike immensely but know it's popular with lots of people.

Milkn0sugar · 01/01/2021 14:50

Sienna is pretty.

PrivateParty · 01/01/2021 14:49

Sienna is my fave. I think it sounds nice with Isla too..

SE13Mummy · 01/01/2021 14:40

Phoebe and Polly get my vote.

KirstenBlest · 01/01/2021 14:25

Sienna - not keen
Halle - no
Phoebe - like
Darcie - dislike
Isabelle - overused
Polly - love
Marnie - not keen

JustanotherTuesday · 01/01/2021 12:00

Isla is a pretty name, Sienna goes well with it.

PlantPotting · 01/01/2021 11:54

I like Marnie the best. A nice list, really like Polly and Phoebe too

MercyBodle · 01/01/2021 11:24

My favourites are Phoebe and Polly - both lovely.
Darcie is okay
I dislike Sienna and Halle as they are very trendy and rather bland to me. I dislike Marnie because I think it sounds awful.

daisypond · 01/01/2021 09:53

Sienna - goes well with Isla.
Halle - no.
Phoebe -yes.
Darcie - no.
Isabelle/ not spelled like this. And too similar to Isla.
Polly- like
Marnie- no.

Jelly4444 · 01/01/2021 09:36

Isabel is lovely but it doesn't sound right with Isla and its a bit over used.

Sienna - its ok
Halle - just no
Phoebe - this is my favourite
Darcie - no! Who wants a name with *rse in it?
Polly - lovely but is it an adult name?
Marnie - no. Reminds me if geordie shore.

Cocomelons · 01/01/2021 09:16

Thanks everyone. Think we've ruled out Isabelle. Was on the fence anyway so your opinions have helped me decide on that. We have I think 3 favourites on the list now so a definite improvement 😂

I think Sienna 'goes' best with Isla, they are both very pretty names.

My thoughts on the others :

Polly or Marnie if you want to be a bit quirky.

Phoebe or Isabel/Isabelle if you want to be more on the classic side.

Halle or Darcie if you want to be more, ahem, downmarket (sorry!)

Unspeakably · 31/12/2020 19:44

I like Sienna, Polly and Isabelle best

LilacSloth · 31/12/2020 19:44

Sienna. It's a very pretty name and sounds nice with Isla.

missmouse101 · 31/12/2020 19:42

Polly and Darcey are nice. Don't like the others.

Nell96 · 31/12/2020 19:40

Sienna - quite like
Halle - ok
Phoebe - love
Darcie - ok, a bit uppity maybe - would spell with a 'y'
Isabelle - pretty but popular, also prefer it spelt Isabel - less frilly
Polly - really nice, underused
Marnie - dislike - sounds like a cross between sarnie/ moany and marmite to me

Charlottejbt · 31/12/2020 19:38

Phoebe is the best by far, and Isabelle is fine. The rest are twee, faddish and not classy at all. Sorry.

SionnachRua · 31/12/2020 19:35

Sienna - ok
Halle - gorgeous
Phoebe - lovely
Darcie - ok, not keen
Isabelle - bland
Polly - ugh no. Wet, insubstantial and meek.
Marnie - not for me

Halle or Phoebe for me, would probably go for Halle.

helpmum2003 · 31/12/2020 19:31

I would go for Polly, Marnie or Phoebe, all lovely names.
I like Isabelle but wouldn't use a name with same initial.
Darcie is ok but spelling confusion.
Personally not fond of Halle or Sienna.

IamnotwhouthinkIam · 31/12/2020 19:28

None of them are my taste apart from pretty Isabel (if spelt this classic way - I prefer more traditional names in general eg. I only like Marnie as a nn for the classical Marina). But I must admit I think Sienna works well with Isla.

partyatthepalace · 31/12/2020 19:22

Love Polly

Love Isabel too, or Isobel if you are building a Scottish theme. Find the French spelling a bit flouncy.

Phoebe is nice

Not keen on the rest.

PoodleMoth · 31/12/2020 18:28

Really like Polly!

Cocomelons · 31/12/2020 18:07
