Top 30 but I don’t know any? I love it. How many under 5s do you know called Ruby?

TIA.

I am absolutely biased on the name Ruby. I have one at 18months.
We don't know any other Ruby's at all

Pantheon · 01/01/2021 17:31

I know one Ruby under 5

Candlesticking · 01/01/2021 01:07

@SpacePug

I know a 2 year old and a dog
Three different people I know recently got new pets. The two puppies (bulldog and bichon frise) and a kitten were all called Ruby.

Xanadu58 · 31/12/2020 18:26

None under 5 but I've got a DGD called Ruby and she's 14

Chilldonaldchill · 31/12/2020 18:18
@Chilldonaldchill 30?! Is that an exaggeration?

Like I think of super common names like Emily and I’d struggle to name 30 I know IRL.
Maybe a slight exaggeration Wink but I work in a role with a lot of children and a few years ago I'm pretty certain I had 8 Ruby-Maes and 4 Ruby-Mays on my books!

PlantPotting · 31/12/2020 16:12

Meant to add that I don't know any

Chilldonaldchill · 31/12/2020 14:45

I know about 30 but they are all 18 and under. The youngest I know is about 6.

PlantPotting · 31/12/2020 14:06

As you'll have seen from the Dark Greener website (which is based on the official UK figures) the name Ruby had been falling each and every year since 2007

Doublechins · 30/12/2020 22:31

Don't know a single Ruby of any age. It's a lovely name

Hazelnutmochi · 30/12/2020 22:23

Know 1 under 5 (have a 3yo) she's the only one I know.

Thefaceofboe · 30/12/2020 22:01

Firebird83 · 30/12/2020 20:57

Cant think of any under 5. 3 aged 5-10

newmum332 · 30/12/2020 20:51

I know of one who is only a few weeks old now

florascotia2 · 30/12/2020 20:46

Chrismi very sorry if I sounded impolite. I did not mean to be. Of course, it will also be helpful for the OP to know how popular the name Ruby is in the USA.

AnaisNun · 30/12/2020 20:07

None under 5. A 16 yo and an 11 yo though.

florascotia2 · 30/12/2020 20:06

Chrismi that's an American website and - so far as I can see from a quick look - it doesn't say where it gets its figures from. But I assume they relate to US baby names.
names.darkgreener.com is based on official UK government statistics.

chrismi · 30/12/2020 19:50

It got quite popular over the years according to the stats at babynameinspirations.com
There were even some boys named Ruby Hmm

pilates · 30/12/2020 19:36

I know one about 10 and another in her 80’s.

I like it.

Allgirlskidsanddogs · 30/12/2020 19:27

Flippingnightmare · 30/12/2020 19:24
