Guessing game V!

Merry twixmas! Xmas Grin

We have reached thread 5(!) of the baby names Guessing Game.

This was the (brilliant) brain child of @scotstar back in March 2018. Smile

All are welcome, rules of this game are pretty straightforward - someone describes a name. Whoever solves the clues is then in charge of describing the next name. Simple! Make the clues as fiendish or straightforward as you like. Grin

Sorry to hear that @LadyGAgain. Work seems to be tough for so many people right now. Hope this thread provides some welcome relief from this horrid world. Flowers

I have a think about your latest clue... Smile

Sorry, it's been a truly awful week. Job losses etc.

An Italian Road
A Portuguese maid
An ancient politicians mother

LadyGAgain · 02/02/2021 23:47

Woohoooo!! I promise to be back x

finallychangedmyusername · 30/01/2021 13:15

Yes, @LadyGAgain!

Regular = daily + Whirling and twirling host = Strictly Come Dancing host > Tess Daly

Leading lady to Danny Ocean's Ocean's Eleven/Twelve/Thirteen (films in the 00's about thieves) > Tess Ocean (also: oceans run deep)

Victorian heroine > Tess d'Urberville > Tess of the d'Urbervilles (based in the now dissolved county of Wessex)

Tess is a possible nickname for Theresa/Teresa. (Extra clue there was the word "may" - Theresa May) Grin

OP posts:
LadyGAgain · 30/01/2021 12:27

Tess or Tessa

finallychangedmyusername · 29/01/2021 21:46

The thieves were on the big screen in the noughties.

OP posts:
finallychangedmyusername · 28/01/2021 12:34

The leading lady's waters run deep.

OP posts:
finallychangedmyusername · 28/01/2021 08:57

Sorry @LadyGAgain, not Polly either.

OP posts:
LadyGAgain · 27/01/2021 20:16

Polly

finallychangedmyusername · 27/01/2021 18:44

Not Nancy, sorry @Ellmau

OP posts:
Ellmau · 27/01/2021 18:38

Nancy?

finallychangedmyusername · 27/01/2021 18:08

I'm currently really name-crushing on this next name: Grin

A regular whirling and twirling host; a leading lady to a group of a dozen or so thieves; a Victorian heroine in a county that exists no more. Some may consider this a nickname.

OP posts:
LadyGAgain · 27/01/2021 16:11

Yes @finallychangedmyusername Ella.

Elle in french (she) with a changed vowel to Ella.

CinderELLA

in the East end it's 'ella va good time etc (made sense to me at the time!!)

Ellmau · 27/01/2021 15:09

Nova?

finallychangedmyusername · 27/01/2021 13:04

Me too. Grin

Estella/Estelle/Stella/Ella? I'm drawn to these. Grin

OP posts:
LadyGAgain · 25/01/2021 21:03

No! Though I love those names!

finallychangedmyusername · 25/01/2021 19:25

Rosalie/Rosaline?

OP posts:
LadyGAgain · 23/01/2021 23:14

Fab clues!

The following make sense to me but I'll struggle with more clues so perhaps I already apologise !!!

She’s french with a swapped vowel.
A true princess.
She makes a truly amazingly brilliant impact in Landan/Essex colloquial.

Ellmau · 22/01/2021 18:49

Yes - obviously a bit too easy ;)

Clues are to Priscilla Presley - Elvis being The KIng; and also Priscilla Queen of the Desert.

Your go!

LadyGAgain · 22/01/2021 08:05

Priscilla?

Ellmau · 21/01/2021 19:13

She married a king she met when she was underage, which I suppose makes her a queen.

LadyGAgain · 20/01/2021 23:45

A traditional Father Christmas offering
She’s often left at the bottom of the bag.

She's not an orange but...
She’s accused of being orange.

Mark Owen from Take that sung about Clementine in his (thankfully) brief solo career
She’s sung about by one of a party of five.

Over to you!

LadyGAgain · 20/01/2021 23:43

Yes @Ellmau !!!
