Guessing game V!

Merry twixmas! Xmas Grin

We have reached thread 5(!) of the baby names Guessing Game.

This was the (brilliant) brain child of @scotstar back in March 2018. Smile

All are welcome, rules of this game are pretty straightforward - someone describes a name. Whoever solves the clues is then in charge of describing the next name. Simple! Make the clues as fiendish or straightforward as you like. Grin

Once a noble lady, then a mountain girl and now she is more often found

finallychangedmyusername · 24/08/2022 15:43

You got it @ThatshallotBaby!

Freya/Freyja/Freja is a Scandinavian name that has also been popular in the UK for the last decade. Freya means "noble", she's a goddess of love, fertility and beauty and finally "worn away at the edges " is, of course "fray" or Frey/Freyr (brother to the goddess Freya).

OP posts:
ThatshallotBaby · 24/08/2022 13:37

Freya?

finallychangedmyusername · 24/08/2022 13:20

Not Artemis, sorry. She's Scandinavian.

OP posts:
ThatshallotBaby · 23/08/2022 07:57

Artemis?

finallychangedmyusername · 20/08/2022 08:46

Alike her brother, this goddess may become worn away at the edges.

Not Michelle

OP posts:
ThatshallotBaby · 17/08/2022 17:36

Michelle?

finallychangedmyusername · 17/08/2022 17:24

This noble lady has been popular in the UK for the past decade, as well as her homeland.

OP posts:
ThatshallotBaby · 16/08/2022 06:43

Yes!!!
Bravo @finallychangedmyusername

finallychangedmyusername · 15/08/2022 19:49

OP posts:
ThatshallotBaby · 15/08/2022 17:11

Ellmau · 14/08/2022 19:54

Barbara?

finallychangedmyusername · 13/08/2022 15:31

Kobe? Or Cob (as in corn-on-the-cob)?

OP posts:
ThatshallotBaby · 13/08/2022 15:25

Nope
More the main event.

MsBucket · 13/08/2022 14:10

Olive? As in olive oil? 🤔

ThatshallotBaby · 12/08/2022 20:58

Ok
You might like this on a bbq. Traditional and cute.

finallychangedmyusername · 09/08/2022 10:44

Hate it when that happens! 😂

OP posts:
ThatshallotBaby · 09/08/2022 10:25

That’s so annoying, I thought of it ages ago and dismissed it!! Numpty 😀

finallychangedmyusername · 09/08/2022 10:24

Yes, it's Marina!

The 60s puppet mermaid Marina was in Stingray. She's Shakesperean and states her name means "born at sea". Marina shares a lot of letters with Miranda. Joey Tribbiani (Friends) is portrayed by Matt LeBlanc who has a daughter called Marina.

And she'll probably not harbour any resentment towards you was an additional harbour/marina clue. The other names you could confuse her with were Maria (West Side Story) and marinara sauce (tomato-base sauce).

Over to you @ThatshallotBaby! 😁

OP posts:
ThatshallotBaby · 09/08/2022 09:26

Not Marina?

finallychangedmyusername · 08/08/2022 23:14

Not Aphrodite, sorry. The name shares a lot of letters with Miranda.

OP posts:
ThatshallotBaby · 08/08/2022 20:38

Aphrodite?

finallychangedmyusername · 08/08/2022 18:19

She was born at sea.

OP posts:
finallychangedmyusername · 02/08/2022 21:50

Nope sorry. The aforementioned Joey is Joey Tribbiani and Miranda was a very close guess!
