I have an Emma who is called Emmie on occasion.

lucieloos · 21/12/2020 00:26

She may do one day I guess but with us calling her Emmie from birth I doubt it really.

Emilia is lovely but she may end up shortening it to Millie. I love the name Millie but as a teacher, I can tell you there's a LOT of them around where I work

lucieloos · 21/12/2020 00:07

The Emilia spelling is quite nice? I like Emmeline but I'm not sure if I could get dh on board with that one.

Emmeline.

I'd always go for a more 'grown-up' name that can be shortened but is a name that grows up well with them and can be taken seriously within a professional capacity!

Myneighboursnorlax · 20/12/2020 22:01

Any name which begins with an M could be shortened to Em, and then Emmy...

Therssalwaysachoice · 20/12/2020 22:01

Esmeralda

TheYearOfSmallThings · 20/12/2020 21:58

How about Emme?

NeonSparkle · 20/12/2020 21:57

I love emerald shortened to Emmy

lucieloos · 20/12/2020 21:53

I do love just Emmy but I feel like it sounds too much of a nickname.

Loving Emerald and Gemma / Jemima

TheYearOfSmallThings · 20/12/2020 21:22

There's a little Emmy in DS's class who is just Emmy - it's not short for anything.

Emmanuelle would be another option.

mangothoughts · 20/12/2020 21:19

I love Noemi and Emmeline

ILoveMyMonkey · 20/12/2020 21:13

I taught an Emmy-Lou

CrispySeaweedIsReallyCabbage · 20/12/2020 21:12

I thought of Clementine too. Emilia just gets mixed up with Amelia ime. Annoying as Emilia is nicer!

RomaineCalm · 20/12/2020 21:11

Jemima

ChanklyBore · 20/12/2020 21:11

Jessbow · 20/12/2020 21:11

I have a friend called Merriel, she calls herself Em, ( M) so I guess that could be Emmie at a stretch

BabloHoney · 20/12/2020 21:10

Clementine

TFSRM · 20/12/2020 21:09

Emilia was my first thought

Nohomemadecandles · 20/12/2020 21:08

Plsv87 · 20/12/2020 21:07
