What do you think of Wilder for a boy? Do you think it works? I also like Ricer too☺️.

I'm relieved to see the typo Grin River is fine.

Wilder makes me think "wilder than what? " then makes me think of Where The Wild Things Are and general bad behaviour.

More than that, it says "I've thought long and hard about it and I'm really hoping my child will be a little shit. I think that would be cool. And I feel so strongly about this that I want everyone to know how I feel, every day of my son's life".

I prefer River to Wilder. But if you really want to be unique Ricer is definitely the way to go

In one way I kind of like it, but then all I can picture is a naughty little boy at school - basically it’s equivalent to essentially calling your child a little shit is it not?

I imagine some folk would pronounce it wil-der (to rhyme with Hilda) others Wilder to rhyme with milder. Also probably be shortened to Will.
You could do wilder first name ad river as a second name Wink

The River and Wilder show on YouTube is really good to be fair. They have a little brother called Archer so maybe you'd like that? For my family, Wilder would just not work, but maybe for yours! If you're called Jane and Ben etc then Wilder would probably be a bit of a curveball.

Wilder... hmmm. Like it as a middle name but you're setting him up for a life time of hassle.

I would worry about naming my child this in case he turned out to be a bit of a handful. Wilder by name, wilder by nature!

I do like River though. Not Ricer Grin

River is fine - a bit hippy/arty but useable (and a guilty pleasure of mine, I think it's lovely). Wilder is not nice, sorry - it's okay as a surname, but not as a first name (what if he's shy and not a party animal like the name suggests?)

I think it sounds nice, but it's one of those names that sets kids up to fail in a way, like Fury or Storm. Little Wilder might just turn out t be really meek and timid.

As a surname, it's fine.
As a first name, it tends to make one want to say 'Wilder than who?' or 'Wilder than what?'
But your choice, obviously.

Obv from the spelling it’s the former, but because Will is such a common name, and will possibly be his nickname, I reckon there’ll be a lot of confusion.
