We have scrapped most of our previous list and are leaning more towards simpler names. What are your thoughts on Jiya, Maya, Siya and Ruhi? Be as brutally honest as you like :)

Really love the name Ruhi in particular but written down it looks a bit incomplete to me? Maybe we could use this as a nickname for Rohini or Ruhani? Ruhi has a beautiful meaning in Hindi.

Maya and Ruhi are lovely

macaroniinapot · 16/12/2020 11:23

I love them all!

Vivarium · 16/12/2020 11:22

Love all of them. Sorry, not much help!

How are they pronounced? Is it J-eye-a , Mya, Sya, and Rooey? If it is then I love the first three and the fourth would grow on me. I don't dislike it. My favourite is Jaya.

Ruhi is gorgeous.

I love Ruhi. My friend has a sister called Ruchi which I think is beautiful. The name Ruhi reminds me of her.

Maya.

All are absolutely loveky and I've taught at least one of each. Just a heads up, be aware in some places Maya has multiple pronunciations and if very popular.

LobsterRavioli · 16/12/2020 11:18

Love love love Maya.

I like Maya or Jiya. My DC are half Indian, and my sister in law is called Maya, I think its a beautiful name and most people can say it and spell it without too much fuss.

If you want a simple name, have you considered Lata?

I really think it's pretty, especially after watching A Suitable Boy earlier in the year.
