Mumtobeee2020 · 15/12/2020 00:45

Can’t choose between these two names for our daughter due soon!! Please help!

💛 Harper Rose
🧡 Amelia Poppy

Worried Amelia may be too popular but also worry with Harper being less traditional...
What are others thoughts? :)

Amelia Poppy is my vote

ZebraKid71 · 16/12/2020 22:00

I'm not a fan of Amelia but Amelie is nice.

I really don't like Harper, it reminds me of the beckhams and is very popular for under 5s in my area. I don't think the Harper Lee connection really helps it as Harper is her middle name, after the surname of a doctor .. I think her first name is actually Nell ( if I remember from a level English!)

NotGenerationAlpha · 16/12/2020 19:46

Much prefer Harper Rose

daisypond · 16/12/2020 19:44

Amelia is thousands of times better than Harper, which is downmarket. Rose is lovely, better as a first name than a middle.

Strokethefurrywall · 16/12/2020 19:39

Love Harper, Amelia is fine but overused and quickly becoming the "Alice" of its day. Dullsville.

Harper is fresh and very classy - makes me think of Harper Lee!

Harper was on our list for DS1 had he been a girl.

lilly2000 · 16/12/2020 19:30

Harper Rose is gorgeous!

percheron67 · 16/12/2020 19:28

Rose is lovely. Harper is Grimm - sounds as if someone didn't know what to call someone who plays the Harp.

PamsterWheel · 16/12/2020 19:27

Amelia Rose

ShagMeRiggins · 16/12/2020 19:23

@LittleTiger007

Harper does not scream Beckhams to me, instead it evokes Harper Lee and the classic book To kill a mockingbird. It’s a classy name.
Thank you for this. Harper is a fine name.
PlantPotting · 16/12/2020 19:20

I love the name Harper

SirSamuelVimes · 16/12/2020 19:07

Amelia way too popular now. I like Harper Rose but I do agree it's a name that will date. It depends if that will bother you!

Audreyseyebrows · 16/12/2020 19:04

Not Harper. I love Rose.

Lemonsyellow · 16/12/2020 19:02

Not Harper

FlyingByTheSeatof · 16/12/2020 18:58

If you haven't read To kill a Mockingbird then choosing Harper is really cringe imho

FlyingByTheSeatof · 16/12/2020 18:56

Harper Rose sounds lovely

VenusClapTrap · 16/12/2020 18:53

Amelia is rather dull but Harper is awful.

AllTheUsernamesAreAlreadyTaken · 16/12/2020 18:39

Amelie Rose (although it's not an actual OP option) is my favourite too.
Amelia is WAY too popular and over used.
Harper is going to be too "of the time" and will date them like Kylie and Karen.

Amelie is much prettier. It's classy and will age better.

WalkingMeAway · 16/12/2020 18:23

Ohhh I love the suggestion of Amelie Rose

AlwaysLatte · 16/12/2020 07:05

I don't like Harper - too much like harpy or harpic so def Amelia Poppy
But careful of the initials if your surname starts with E or P

mylaptopismylapdog · 16/12/2020 06:53

I think Amelie Rose would be better than Amelia Rose.

Mally2020 · 16/12/2020 06:03

Not Amelia far to overused. My favourite out of the four is actually poppy, then harper, amelia and rose

MerchantOfVenom · 16/12/2020 05:56

@LittleTiger007

Harper does not scream Beckhams to me, instead it evokes Harper Lee and the classic book To kill a mockingbird. It’s a classy name.
It was an alright name, but then the Beckhams ruined it.

I know two Harpers. Both boys. Both born (and therefore named) just before the Beckhams had their girl.

Suddenly you don’t see any boys being called Harper anymore...

felttree · 16/12/2020 05:48

Harper Rose is absolutely beautiful.

I love the name Harper but can't use it as it's a family member has it as a surname.

Amelia is pretty but quite popular and a bit of a mouthful for such a short name.

DukeOfEarlGrey · 16/12/2020 05:07

Amelia Rose

Tavannach · 16/12/2020 02:42
