What would you call her?

Also, is the name your ‘if I was brave enough’ name? If not please tell me them both Grin

I’m hoping to find inspiration because we’ve come up with 3 names and none feel ‘right’.

Thank you Xmas Smile

I loved Isla I think that's what I would have gone for if my little boy was a girl!

I actually love the name Dorothy nn Dotty but would never use it but definitely is a name I wouldn't be brave enough to use

If I was feeling brave Stevie, Claudine or Jamie

@blitzen I came on with just these names in mind too - Felicity or Liberty. Clemency, Sylvie, Cicely or Eleanor would also be lovely.

MrsMyreton · 14/12/2020 19:42

I already have two girls (and that's me finished!! Smile) but if I were to have more they'd be:
Murron
Constance
Ailsa
Merida

I shouldn't participate in these threads they make me broody!!

mackerella · 14/12/2020 19:35

Rowan is my absolute favourite, although I also seriously considered Mariam or Nina (I have a Forrin Background, so these would be appropriate). I also like Verity and Sylvia as suggested by others here.

Weirdly, I've seen my own name suggested on this thread Shock. It's a perfectly normal name - somewhere in the 600s last year but not unusual, and common in lots of other countries albeit with different spellings - but it NEVER gets suggested on here!

Appuskidu · 14/12/2020 19:27

Harriet
Nancy
Clara

Kate or Leah would be my choice.

WalkingAfterMidnight · 14/12/2020 19:22

Gwenllian or Gwawr were my girls names. I had boys!

HansGruber · 14/12/2020 19:19

Fab thanks for responses. Going to have a proper read through with DH after dinner. But some standing out already (to me... I’m sure DH and his Hmm face will be along in no time!)

Verity, Clemency,Sylvia. Sylvia was a contender for DD but I wrote my dissertation on Sylvia Plath and DH wasn't up for naming our daughter after a dead poet.
Brave names would be Portia, Cordelia , Viola.
You can see I have a theme...

squirrelnutkins1 · 14/12/2020 19:07

Silver, Briar, Penelope, Tabitha

doublecheeseburgermediumfries · 14/12/2020 19:07

MrsRogerLima · 14/12/2020 19:05

I'd name her Elsbeth

Roxanne if I were feeling brave 😂

Sleepdeprived42long · 14/12/2020 19:04

Willow or Robin

If I were feeling brave Felicity or February (or any month or season).

PinGwyn · 14/12/2020 19:02

Francesca

Fozzleyplum · 14/12/2020 19:02

Perhaps I should add that we chose similarly well-known, but not much-used names for our boys and, 19 and 17 years on, they have stood the test of time!

Fozzleyplum · 14/12/2020 18:59

I had boys, but my favourite name for a girl was Honor.

Margo34 · 14/12/2020 18:59

Sula if I was brave enough. It means "peace little she-bear"

DSsnmum · 14/12/2020 18:55

Ada or Edith. I really wanted these for my DD but my DH doesn’t like them!
