Love Naomi but it's not quiiite right and we have no Jewish connection.

•I like that aomi sound. Also like Elodie.
•Into names that begin with N (not Nina)
•Into 3 syllable names

I know a Layomi (rhymes with Naomi) unsure of spelling though.

I love Naomi

Also like Elodie, Leonie, Phoebe, Bea

YoniAndGuy · 14/12/2020 22:52

Leonie

Chloe

Leonora

Sabrina

-are names that I would kind of put in the same 'camp' as Naomi. I like all of them more than I like Naomi - the two pronunciation options put me off Naomi.

Love Sabrina!

I don’t think anyone has suggested Nicola. A lovely name that everyone knows but won’t be multiples in the classroom. Apparently only 34 baby girls names Nicola last year vs 305 Naomi’s.

Prettysparkles · 14/12/2020 22:30

My name is Naomi, and I have absolutely no Jewish connection

SugarCanes · 12/12/2020 20:08

Natalie ?

Kittykatmacbill · 12/12/2020 18:14

I don’t think of it as a particular jewish name, just an Old Testament one! If you like it use it. Names like it I’d say Miriam, Ruth, Rachel etc.

Pastilleanise · 12/12/2020 17:50

Nonia

My daughter is called Naomi. We always get lots of compliments on her name and there aren't loads of other girls her age (4) with this name. I am not Jewish but am of Jewish heritage, but we chose her name because we liked it. It's a slightly unusual name in this day and age without being strange.

Nemone (Nem-oh-neh)

RosyPickle · 12/12/2020 14:22

Noelle, Norah, Nimona, Nova, Neve/Niamh, Nuala (pronounced Nula), Nell, Nia, Nisha, Nerys, Nadia, Nigella?

HarryLimeFoxtrot · 12/12/2020 14:18

Melody?

Or my favourite ‘n’ name is Nuria - which also fits with your preference for 3 syllables.

Natasha
Amelie
Melody
Melissa
Delilah

Ejb86 · 12/12/2020 14:15

An alternative would be Noemi. Not sure of its origins, but was the name of my German exchange student when I was young, but the family were Spanish. I adore the name now that I'm having my own children, but I wouldn't get it past hubby!

LittleRa · 12/12/2020 14:14

Paloma

mum2jakie · 12/12/2020 14:14

Eloise?

CherryBlossomTree7 · 12/12/2020 14:12

My first thought was Phoebe, but obviously doesn't begin with an N.

What about Natalia too?

RightOnTheEdge · 12/12/2020 14:12

I didn't know Naomi had religious connections. I know a couple with a dd called Naomi and the husband is Muslim.
They live in Iraq now.

OublietteBravo · 12/12/2020 14:10

I went to school with a girl called Nonie. I quite like it as a name - although I’ve never come across anyone else called that.

Otherwise perhaps Hermione?
