Love it OP, it's a carry you anywhere name.

SteeperThanHell · 15/12/2020 23:37

Love it - it’s a middle name for one of our children

YoniAndGuy · 14/12/2020 19:21

Really horrible - probably least favourite boy's name. It just doesn't sound right at all for a boy - it's so feminine, so the result is a very wet, also kind of supercilious unpleasant name. The short forms are also awful.

RuthW · 14/12/2020 12:57

Lovely

willien · 14/12/2020 12:53

Horrible. And also the Pope vibes .. just no

nomorespaghetti · 14/12/2020 12:53

I’ve got a toddler Francis, so obviously I love it Grin we usually shorten to Fran. I don’t mind Frank, but I really don’t like Frankie. To be fair he can shorten it to whatever he wants, but he’ll always be Francis to his mother!

KarenMaguire2012 · 14/12/2020 12:48

it's fucking awful imagine it when he's 20 how much worse it will be

TerribleCustomerCervix · 12/12/2020 20:20

My ex was called Francis, and about as far away from a wet blanket as you could imagine.

I really like it- same vibe as Patrick for me as a underused classic.

BeesAnkles · 12/12/2020 20:15

Awful, one of my least favourite names. Wet blanket, as PP said.

That said, Frankie sounds cool.

TheYearOfSmallThings · 12/12/2020 20:11

I love it and I got talked out of using it ☹️

FippertyGibbett · 12/12/2020 20:09

Our friend is shortened to Frankie.

SugarCanes · 12/12/2020 20:08

It's ok, it's one of those names that may make a comeback

GoingBackTo505 · 12/12/2020 19:52

I'm not a fan of names that can be used for both sexes (I know it's spelled differently) as I always find them a bit too feminine for a boy and bit too masculine for a girl. Big fan of Frank though.

AgeLikeWine · 12/12/2020 19:47

Excellent, proper name.

Whatsyourflava · 12/12/2020 19:44

I like it but I've been warned that apparently it gets shortened to Frank or Frankie these days. Not so keen on the shortenings

Sexnotgender · 12/12/2020 19:00

I’ve got a toddler Francis so I’m biased! Love it. We’ve had loads of compliments on it.

It’s a little unusual without being weird.

Thethingswedoforlove · 12/12/2020 08:34

Reminds me of house of cards but it’s a niche reference!

Katgolde · 12/12/2020 08:31

I like it.

LongPauseNoAnswer · 12/12/2020 07:11

I love it. It’s a classic.

MoreKnackeredThanYou · 12/12/2020 07:10

I like it! I’ve only known a girl Frances and she shortened it to Fran.

nevergoingoutagain · 12/12/2020 07:07

I have a girl Frances. She chooses to be called Frankie by her friends. Personally I love it for a boy or girl but it's my dads name too and my Granny's so I may be biased lol

YoungScrappyHungry · 12/12/2020 06:58

Hate it, sorry. Francis is a right wet blanket in my eyes, cries when a ladybird lands on his hand.

August20 · 12/12/2020 04:54

I like it

DramaAlpaca · 11/12/2020 23:48

I like Francis but I can't stand any if the diminutives - Fran/Frank/Frankie - so it's strictly middle name territory for me.

Firebird83 · 11/12/2020 22:44

Really like it
