What do you think? DP thinks of Indiana Jones but it seems quite feminine to me with 'Anna' on the end.

It's a state in the USA.

Katgolde · 16/12/2020 16:49

Place name or boys name.

shamus2020 · 16/12/2020 16:32

It's a girls name

mathanxiety · 16/12/2020 05:03

YYY to armpit of a state.

lemonsquashie · 13/12/2020 09:18

@CherryPavlova

It’s a state in USA. Jennifer, Cressida, Phoebe, Artemis and Candida are girls names.
Isn't candida a yeast infection?
Danglingmod · 12/12/2020 18:26

It's a girls' name.

I think Indigo is more appropriate for a boy.

florascotia2 · 12/12/2020 18:21

Regardless of terminology, I agree with you, Heron
I can't understand why this has been ignore by UK media.
It really is appalling. A loser who takes out his feelings, sadistically, on people who are almost all seriously damaged or disadvantaged.

Respectabitch · 12/12/2020 18:06

It's a dog's name and also an armpit of a state. So I'm voting no.

HeronLanyon · 12/12/2020 18:04

I’m actually an atheist Apols of burn in hell is offensive for anyone of faith. Can’t express my hatred of him strongly enough.

HeronLanyon · 12/12/2020 18:03

pence land.
Trump will surely burn in hell for what he is doing right now.
Absolutely disgusting and shocking.

florascotia2 · 12/12/2020 17:59

OP As I am sure you will have seen, Indiana is the US state that seems to want to collaborate with Trump in an utterly ghastly and sadistic last-minute execution spree.
Any ruler who seeks to enhance his prestige by killing people - yes, they are criminals but many of their convictions are deeply , deeply suspect - is worth nothing but the deepest contempt.

Carouselfish · 11/12/2020 22:59

vote boy. I know one.

Ylfa · 11/12/2020 15:57

@lemonsquashie

Neither. Sorry: it's a state in the USA. It would be like calling your baby Texas or Michigan
I had a great great aunt called Texas, she was one of about a million siblings all given southern/south east place names. She was about 4’10 so unfortunately never grew into such a big name 😀
mathanxiety · 11/12/2020 06:20

It's an American state with unsavoury parts that you can smell before you see.

HeronLanyon · 11/12/2020 05:18

I (U.K.) have lived in Indiana. Wouldn’t even consider using it as a name. It’s a State.
Have never met an Indiana.
If I heard it as a first name I’d assume a girl despite Indiana Jones.

MercyBodle · 11/12/2020 05:10

As a place name it's unisex. If I saw it in writing I'd ask whether it was a boy or a girl.

isawthat · 11/12/2020 04:09

I only know girls called Indiana

Inkpaperstars · 11/12/2020 04:08

Ps have also seen Indyana for a girl

Inkpaperstars · 11/12/2020 04:08

Girl's name, but at a push could use for either.

Honeyroar · 10/12/2020 22:53

I studied Italian so anything ending in A is female in my book! But really it’s a place name.

Mrsfrumble · 10/12/2020 22:52

It’s the titular heroine of quite a famous novel by George Sand, published in the 19th century. So definitely a girl’s name.

Pipandmum · 10/12/2020 22:51

Girl

june2007 · 10/12/2020 22:45

Well I have heard of Chester, Devon leicester and London so why not Oldham?

CherryPavlova · 10/12/2020 22:45

@CorianderQueen

Female, most names ending in -a feel female.
Gosh, how clever to know that.

The girls name predates the fungal infection name. It’s from the Latin Candidus. Pure or white, honesty, snowy depending on text being translated.

HopeClearwater · 10/12/2020 22:41

Oldham. How about Oldham. That’s a dump too. I think it sounds like a boy’s name though.
