I agree with PP that it’s very much of its time. And I too only knew a horrid Kayleigh. She tried to pinch my boyfriend.

The snob in me thinks it’s a little bit dreadful. I know we’re not supposed to think it, or say it, but there we are. I much prefer Hayley, which I always think sounds so cheerful, but is dated too.

Agree with all of this. Apart from the boyfriend pinching, obvs!

It’s not exactly a timeless, elegant classic.

I also know a Caley and I think it much more classy when spelled that way.

I like it but would probably spell it Kayley. I know one and she spells it Caley.

I love the song, I like the name too, I don’t think I have ever met a Kayleigh. So quite unusual, but not in a way where you would forever be explaining the pronunciation. Go for it OP.

Really dislike, sorry. What about other name sending with the ey/ie sound or starting Kay:

Catherine can be nn Kay (or Katie obviously) or Kitty
Or Katrina etc

Or other ending ie or ey names like Charlotte nn Lottie, Sophia nn Sophie

I don't mind the sound of it but can't find a spelling I like.

I don't know anyone of that name under 30.

I wouldn't choose it myself but it does have a nice sound.

I'm not keen tbh but that's because I know 2 Kayleigh's and neither of them are nice. But if you love it, use it
