Edward?

I absolutely love the name. I don't know of any below 50. Also love Eddie, Ned, Woody nn's. DH is worried it's a bit boring, what do you think?

It was top of my list but it’s so popular now It put me off

Dull but it's your decision.

IncludeWomenInTheSequel · 05/12/2020 14:06

It's fine. That's all though, it's a fine name.

Woody is a nickname for Edward though? I didn't know that!

Sausagedog1 · 05/12/2020 13:53

It depends what you like. I find it a bit boring personally but I feel the same way about Thomas James Oliver Jack etc. I'd put it in that category, but if you love it you should use it.

Lovely, I know an Edward younger than 50.

Meredithgrey1 · 05/12/2020 13:33

I love it.
I wanted it if DD had been a boy (but like you, my husband wasn’t keen).

Twizbe · 05/12/2020 13:30

I know an 18 month old, 36 year old and 71 year old Edward. It's a name that grows with a child for sure.

CakeRattleandRoll · 05/12/2020 13:17

Love it. Have one!

Interesting that although popular in UK, it is far less so in USA, Australia, etc. Whereas other 'classic' (and potentially 'boring') names like Thomas, William, James, etc are popular throughout much of English speaking world.

RuthW · 05/12/2020 12:24

Lovely

MikeUniformMike · 05/12/2020 12:18

I know a few.Ned is awful, Teddy is very popular, Eddie is fine.
Woody is an euphemism for a stiffy, so maybe not.

muckandnettles · 05/12/2020 12:10

Lovely name! Not boring at all.

Mintjulia · 05/12/2020 12:10

No, it's great. Lots of variations.

It hasn't held Ed Sheeran back Smile

Love this name. Absolutely classic. I was going to be called this if I’d been a boy. Kind of wish I had been Grin
