For boy or girl, what are your thoughts? What other names do you think are similar?

It’s a French boy’s name to me. I like it.

IamnotwhouthinkIam · 05/12/2020 01:39

Similar sound to Remy - Henry, Louis, Toby, Rory.

pinkpinecone · 05/12/2020 00:50

@boomshakey ah see what you mean. I assume it's originally a boys name that became unisex but no idea when or why...

IamnotwhouthinkIam · 05/12/2020 00:30

Not very keen for on Remy for either sex, sorry OP. It sounds a bit cute/nicknamey to me (athough I realise it's a well known French name).

boomshakey · 05/12/2020 00:28

@pinkpinecone I asked why people think it's a girls name though? As in just a girls name.

baumwolle · 05/12/2020 00:07

Boy's name (have never known a female Remy) but also rat name, from ratatouille...

pinkpinecone · 05/12/2020 00:05

@boomshakey it's unisex names.darkgreener.com/#remi

CoronaBollox · 04/12/2020 22:11

Boys

boomshakey · 04/12/2020 21:56

We liked remy but I think it's more of a girls name

Why do people think it's a girl name?

Bogardicia · 04/12/2020 21:35

Love it for a girl.

pinkpinecone · 04/12/2020 20:32

I really like it, I think of it as unisex. Remi for a girl and Remy for a boy.

ChanklyBore · 04/12/2020 20:18

Remy Hadley from House. Otherwise known as thirteen.

Then the rat from ratatouille

But I do like it - girl or boy.

Magicbabywaves · 04/12/2020 20:18

I would assume girl I think, but that’s shows my ignorance if it’s a French name. Not keen on Romi.

Firebird83 · 04/12/2020 20:14

There is a boy Remy at my DS’s nursery.

Nell96 · 04/12/2020 20:07

A family member recently named their son Remy. It wouldn't be my choice - I'm usually not a fan of y/ie endings for boy's names, but it's fine. The following names feel similar to me:

Rory
Roscoe
Luca
Rex
Milo
Lenny
Levi
Pascal

We liked remy but I think it's more of a girls name xxx

Madbengalmum · 04/12/2020 19:50

My male cat is called Remy. From ratatouille.

SeigneurLapindeGrantham · 04/12/2020 19:49

I once knew a little french boy called Remy absolutely lovely name for a lovely little boy.

ExitChasedByAnImposter · 04/12/2020 19:46

Maybe for both? I remember there was a Remi in Junior Masterchef and she was super talented.

LittleTiger007 · 04/12/2020 19:46

Def know it as a boys name Remi. I taught a remi ... he was lovely

LuckyAmy1986 · 04/12/2020 19:42

Love it for either

ButterflyOfFreedom · 04/12/2020 19:40

Boys name.

I know of one who is 2 years old.

florascotia2 · 04/12/2020 19:35

Boys name. Short for Remigius which means 'oarsman' (specifically male). Very famous early French saint (male). Not a name for a girl.

boomshakey · 04/12/2020 19:15

Love it. I know it as a French boys name

Oneandabean · 04/12/2020 19:14

Boys name, rat from ratatouille
