Capri?

What do you think of this name for a girl? It would be after the Italian city (where we got married) I was thinking of maybe using it as a middle name? So it would be Aurora Capri. I was going to call her Aurora Violet but now I can’t decide😂. Do you think it sounds strange because of Capri Sun the drink?

Pants! But as a middle name it’s fine because nobody ever uses them, and it has meaning to you so far better than the ubiquitous Rose, May or Grace.

YoniAndGuy · 04/12/2020 09:51

Middle name fine if it has meaning to you.

I don't see how it's pretty though. It's pretty harsh and has lots of everyday meanings, none of which are at all evocative or nice really. If you say it a few times - Ka-Pree - it's not that great...

Scarby9 · 03/12/2020 17:26

I think it would be a bit much if you had no connection to the place - but you have a story to tell her about your wedding. As a midfle name, it is fine, but so is Violet.

Tangledtresses · 03/12/2020 17:14

I wouldn't!

TicTacTwo · 03/12/2020 17:11

Ford Capri

CorianderQueen · 03/12/2020 16:54

Capri-sun

Omeara · 03/12/2020 16:52

I can’t help but think of the car that Del Boy owned!

Pinkypink · 03/12/2020 16:49

I love it and would also think of the beautiful destination rather than the other associations.
I also loved Cadiz as a name, until we got home from our holiday and saw our old radiators are called Cadiz.

I immediately thought of capri trousers. If it's a middle name might be ok.

CakeRattleandRoll · 03/12/2020 13:05

I like it. Aurora Capri really works and sounds different/original.

DramaAlpaca · 02/12/2020 22:30

It's a car to me. I don't like it as a name, sorry.

1stDecember · 02/12/2020 20:31

Crappy.

TrixieHeliotrope · 02/12/2020 20:29

Great name - Capri-sun is my son's favourite drink and the Ford Capri is my favourite car. In the unlikely scenario I have another child, if they're a girl I'd probably name her that.

OffredOfjune · 02/12/2020 19:51

I like it. One of Kobe and Vanessa Bryant's daughters is called Capri.

Juanbablo · 02/12/2020 19:40

I like it.

Doublebubblebubble · 02/12/2020 19:39

Not for me. For one reason: Capri Suns!

mortas · 02/12/2020 19:35

I like it, but will she be born a Capricorn? (21 Dec - 19 Jan) in that case, I wouldn't.

Ellmau · 02/12/2020 18:45

I wouldn't like it for a first name, but as a middle name when it has a personal resonance for you, I think it's OK.

MrsMoastyToasty · 02/12/2020 13:35

I much prefer Porsche Carrera as a name. Classy innit?

M0MS · 02/12/2020 13:27

I know a Capri. I'd guess she's around 9 or 10 now. I think it's really nice.Smile

MercyBodle · 02/12/2020 13:07

Lovely - works well with Aurora, has nice meaning for you, sounds attractive and is unexpected. Go for it! ( I like Violet as well).

Champy87 · 02/12/2020 12:46

I did think of the island first although I do think its a bit wannabe celeb. Lucy Meck has Roman Ravello as they got engaged in Ravello, Italy.

The other thing I would note is Aurora is a popular name in Italy due to its Roman and Latin roots. People may assume with two Italian names that you have Italian heritage. No bad thing but just to make you aware.

unicornparty · 02/12/2020 12:25

I thought of the model Caprice.
