What do people think of the name Axel? My OH has decided it's his favourite but I'm not sure. Is it to harsh sounding?

Any opinions or other suggestions would be really helpful thanks

I really like it! Axel Rose is pretty cool. Also like the Axl spelling

Palavah · 01/12/2020 20:51

Like it - there's an Axel in one of the Jules Verne novels I think. He's tall and athletic and blonde and teutonic in my head/

I's very cool, but I think in English speaking countries Axel still sounds quite Rock Star/Celeb (it's lovely if you have Scandi heritage though.) Lars, Erik, Max, Felix might be options?

MondeoFan · 01/12/2020 20:39

I really like it but prefer it spelt Axl

dogdilemmas · 01/12/2020 20:39

Love Axel.
Reminds me of White Lines.

Nackajory · 01/12/2020 20:38

Makes me think of axel grease.

August20 · 01/12/2020 20:37

I didn't use to like it because I got i mixed up with a car axle (this was as a child!).

But I have since met a lovely Scandinavian little boy called Axel and the name has grown on me.

I like it.

Would that be for a boy?
