Hi, my baby is almost five weeks old and still no name. I have an appointment to register her in the morning.
Could I have opinions on the two names me and dh are stuck between please?
Dalia (this is a kurdish name, baby is half kurdish and I thought it was unusual and so sweet sounding)
Anaya an-eye-ah
Thanks for any help

I like both.

I'd probably go with Dahlia myself but that's because I'm terrible for shortening names & Dahlia isn't easy to shorten!

most people will spell it like the flower.
but i think that's less annoying / tiresome than having to explain how to say it.

Thanks for your help everyone. Dalia is the one I am more leaning towards but it is difficult as I like both but both are very different.

either of those will raise queries as to how to pronounce them.
maybe dalia will be easier for people to learn and remember.
sounds like the flower, dahlia. is it pronounced the same?
i think the other one would be very difficult for english-speaking people to get their heads around.
good luck.
