Terrible. They are so babyish. Fine for a baby. What about when he’s 50?

Nell96 · 28/11/2020 23:19

I dislike Archie. Albie (dislike the 'y' spelling) and Ernie are fine as nicknames for Albert, Ernest etc. They're sweet for a little boy, not so sure for a grown man - would be good to give him some options.

Ernie makes me think of the fastest milkman in the west song.

Archie from your list

Tambourina · 28/11/2020 22:42

All diminutives

TildaTurnip · 28/11/2020 22:40

This is the fourth Archie thread on here I have seen in less than 24 hours so I would say from that alone that it is rather liked.

Atalune · 28/11/2020 22:40

Albie- lovely.
Archie- very popular. Not keen
Ernie- not keen

Edwin- nn Teddy or eddy or Winnie?

Echobelly · 28/11/2020 22:38

All cute but, and I'm always saying this here, I would give a full version of the name of their birth certificate, because there may be a time they'd prefer to be known by a name with more gravitas.

MyNameForToday1980 · 28/11/2020 22:36

I don't mind Albie, Ernie would be fine as a NN for Ernest. Archie is a bit naff (sorry to all the Archie parents out there). I'm sure you'd dislike DD' name too.

2gorgeousboys · 28/11/2020 22:35

They all seem like very cute nicknames to me.

IamnotwhouthinkIam · 28/11/2020 22:34

I don't really like any of them, sorry OP. Alby is the best of the bunch I guess, might make a cute nn for Albert.

Love Ernie and Archie
